About this listen
Samuel deserves to die a thousand deaths.
I was so close to going home and then he ruined it all. Now, I have to focus on how to survive because I don’t think I can go home. And to be honest, after a few more nights with Benny, I’m not sure I even want to.
Plus, the more I learn about the circus, the more intrigued I become. I discover that I have abilities I couldn’t have even dreamed of, if I’d stayed in California.
But, if I’m to survive, I might have to embrace dark magic.
Can I do that without losing myself? Or, am I destined to become evil?

Story
There are many ways to die at the Circus of the Dead. You’re invited to witness them all. Mom sent me all the way across the country to the Louisiana bayou to join the circus and help my uncle for the summer. Except there is something not quite right on this swampy cursed island, and after having my fortune told, I can’t leave. I try to escape, but Benny, an all too charming ghost gangster tries to kill me by feeding me to a tiger. Thankfully I’m rescued by Samuel, the incredibly hot ringmaster who can’t be a day over 20.

Story
My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. I still can't decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me. Then there's Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years. But there's something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what's broken in me. Which could spell death for us all.

Um. Um. Um. Are you reading this? If you are, I need your help. I was at a party; I was running; I fell. And get this - this is the part you'll never believe - I fell down a rabbit hole. Like Alice in those old books. Except in those books, there wasn't blood everywhere. In those books, the characters weren't all male, attractive, and interested in me.

Surviving a werewolf attack should’ve been the strangest thing to happen to me tonight. But no, the universe had other plans. Now, I’m stuck dealing with a broodingly hot guy named Wesley St. John—who seems way too comfortable with murder. Definitely a red flag, right? Wes isn’t just some guy I stumbled upon—he’s a protector, but not the friendly kind. His job is to keep the supernatural world in check, and my ignorance is making things complicated.

Creepy, Creepy Fun
I was given a copy of the audiobook and I’m leaving an honest review.
4.5
So much creepy fun!
I love these characters. Callie, well, I wouldn’t say she’s the brightest bulb in the box but I’m enjoying following her story.
Samuel! I love him! Well, I hate him. But I love to hate him. Seriously, a villain I really enjoyed. So dark. He gave me the creeps and I loved it. I want more villains like him.
The rest of the cast of characters are all well developed and interesting in their own ways. It’s been a while since I read a book that I felt like I couldn’t get enough of it. I’m on the edge of my seat for book three. How do I get on Ms. Loth’s ARC team???!???
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I really enjoyed this as an audiobook. The narrator is very good. I recommend it either in print or in audio.

Callie is so determined
Callie is so determined to figure out what is going to happen and how to get off the island. She learns that Samuel puts little things in his contracts that make it so that if anyone tries to hurt him someone can die. This isn't revealed until it is too late and Callie is left feeling so much guilt for what happens to the islanders next. Book three here I come.

Who has the power?
“You are the first person who came to the island and challenged me. You’re tenacious as hell, and I never know what you have up your sleeve.”
OMG, I cannot believe where this story is going and I am hopping on the boat to take me there! Are there any other takers? The story picks up from where the first audiobook ends and it is not a standalone. Callie is back and doing what she can to figure out how to get off the island but you know what they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Benny is around to lend an ear or whatever else Callie may need. Samuel is his dominating self and trying to get Callie no matter what. In order to fight Samuel, Callie decides to delve into learning magic but it leads to a different outcome than she expected. Can Callie best Samuel? Will she be able to escape the island? This is one series that you will not be able to stop listening to as Sarah Puckett’s voice just puts you into a state that you do not want to leave. In some ways it is like listening to old school radio of an Agatha Christie whodunnit that just captivates from the onset. It does end in one heck of a cliffhanger and all I can say is I want the third audiobook now! I highly recommend this series. I volunteered to listen to a copy of this audiobook.

Circus Of The Dead
Circus of the Dead Book 2 will continue to leave you with more questions than answers. Darkness, magic, horrifying twists, unforeseeable happenings, and mystery surrounding the circus of the dead. This ends with a perfect cliffhanger that will have you hooked and anxiously waiting for book 3. The storyline is absolutely unpredictable and the more the layers are unfolding, the more you realize that their is so much more to come. Loving this series and restlessly waiting for the next aydio in this ya paranormal series.
Narator Sarah Puckett is so awesome in her ability to create the perfect voice for a teenager who is stuck in a place she doesn't want to be. I cannot say enough about Sarah Puckett's exceptional talent. Best choice for narator to narate this series.

The Plot Thickens
Sarah Puckett has done a great job in narrating the second book bringing more chilling plots to the story.
Kimberly Loth has created a great world with interesting characters. In the second book things become more involved in Callie trying to free the island of Samuel' s hold over the islanders. Just gets better each book that I read.

Wow!! what an awesome cliffhanger ending. Callie grew alot in this book, personally and in her powers. I liked her more than in the first book. The world the author has created is so interesting. The narrator is one of my faves & does a fabulous job bringing the characters & stpry to life.

Couldn’t stop listening
I couldn’t stop listening to this story. Usually I listen to audible only when I am multitasking and can’t sit down to read. However, I couldn’t stop listening to this story and ultimately finished it in one day. Although I sometimes think too much is expected of a 16 year old, overall the story is gripping. Ends in a cliffhanger that was completely unexpected. I can’t wait to listen to the next book.

Captivating!
This series just keeps getting better and better. Callie continues her battle with Samuel. In this installment, I feel like we get to know Samuel a bit better and I did not like him at all. Callie continues her game with Samuel during the book and at the end only one can be a winner. The plot twists were great and I didn’t see them coming. The narrator, Sarah Puckett did a wonderful job portraying Callie and the other characters.

Circus of the Dead 2
I loved this second part of the Circus. I loved Callie's spark and how she isn't just willing to give in even though that would be the easiest thing to do. I really love how everything keeps taking unexpected turns into something you never expected. The first book left off in a cliffhanger with me begging for book 2. And now book 2 has me begging for book 3. and even though I haven't read 3 yet I can't wait to get through 3 and find out how book 4 ends, but I am scared to lose this wonderful world and I'm only halfway though it.
I loved how the narrator had the perfect voice for a teen who doesn't really want to deal with any of this and is just putting up with it all until they can get to what they want.
