Terrible Narration

Not sure who thought these two narrators would add to this audio book but they were wrong. I think I will need to switch to the Kindle version.

Horrible narrators.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jason Dohring and Sophie Turner ?

I really liked the narrator of the Clockwork Princess, Daniel Sherman. Really, anybody else probably would have been better. I have never written a review before, anthing really, but I felt I had to, to convey how bad Jason Dohring is. I imaging him being one of the silent brothers. There is very little inflection in his voice and almost completely lacking emotion. It is like listening to a robot.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but I just couldn't. The other books in the series, all of them in fact, I have been able to listen to almost non-stop. Jason Dohring was so BORING I just couldn't do it.

Any additional comments?

Get different narrators. Just because someone is a stage actor that doesn't mean they can do this kind of work. Narrators of audible books need to be able to convey the feeling of an entire scene through their voice inflection and emotion. Stage actors can do this with body language which is not possible on these audio books.

My Favorite of all the Mortal Instruments Books

If you could sum up City of Heavenly Fire in three words, what would they be?

Bittersweet, suspenseful, emotional

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jace is my favorite character because he is a bit of a smart*** and found him endearing.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Jason Dohring and Sophie Turner ?

Sophie Turner yes...Jason not so much. I love Sophie Turner as an actress in Game of Thrones and she does a wonderful job Jason is a little monotone for my liking.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Angels and Demons and Magic....OH MY!

Any additional comments?

Loved the entire series but City of Heavenly Fire is my absolute favorite...I am sad that there will be no more adventures for Jace and Clary.

Amazing story and narration

I loved this one, it got a little slow there in the middle but, trust me, the ending is well worth it. The perfect ending to an amazing series. Bravo.

Finale

A great ending to a wonderful series. Action packed and yet it answered many questions and wrapped up loose ends. Love the female narrator, but not the male. Maybe it was that their accents were different and therefore sounded jarring when they alternated. Glad to be done with this series.

Great story, ruined by horrible performance.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jason Dohring and Sophie Turner ’s performances?

Jason doll, this is not a proper career path for you. Perhaps reading childrens stories..???

Any additional comments?

Loved the story as usual, but would have preferred to read it myself. This was nearly painful.

Poor narration

Story was good overall. More emotion from the narrators would have gone a long way in creating a good listen
