Good stuff

I probably should have re-read all the previous books first, because I felt a little lost getting back in the characters culture. This book rotated around a war and pretty much had a straight feeling of bla or dread. It was a good book but I didn't feel like it pulled me into the story. It was more like "Life sucks, then it gets worse and if you win, you still have nothing to look forward to except the aftermath and the loss" Well that's depressing... Hmmm It may be just because this book was really meant to be read right after the others, it had been over a year since I read the last book in this series and this book didn't really bring you back up to speed. Ya that is probably it.

Perfect Ending to a great series

I love the whole series and read pretty much all but this one. I'll be reading more of this authors books just because I love her style.

Great ending to the series

This is a really good book. The author has carefully woven the story lines from her previous words with this one and the result is a thoroughly enjoyable book, which manages to give closure to both story lines.
The addition of a male narrator also gives a more powerful voice to the male characters
I highly recommend it.

what happened? Jason Boring, I mean Dohring

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I unfortunately would not recommend the audiobook. The naration is so hard to listen to. Sophie Turner's american accent blows Jason Dohring's british accent out of the water. Listening to him takes all the magic, suspense, beauty, and excitement out of this series. I would love to hear more emotion in his voice

What was one of the most memorable moments of City of Heavenly Fire?

The humor, definitely the humor

Ending to the Series Done Very Well!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this audiobook to a friend. I had been recently disappointed by another author and the way they ended their trilogy, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but Cassandra did a great job wrapping this series up, and laying the ground work for the next series.

The first three books of the series, I felt, were very good and really worked at not only developing her characters but also seeing each of them grow through the challenges and successes they each had to face. The next two books, although entertaining, I felt they were really dragging the story out. I realize there was quite a bit of story to tell, but felt a bit tired of watching some of the characters keep doing the same stupid things over and over. I know the target audience was young adults and I am over 40, but I thoroughly enjoyed this entire series overall. I was very impressed with the last book especially, the way Cassandra wrapped everything up.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Jason Dohring and Sophie Turner ?

I have to be honest, the narration was not my favorite if compared to the other narrators that were used in the previous books. Jason Dohring is probably a really good narrator but I did not enjoy listening to him in this book. I did enjoy Sophie more, but I'm not sure why everyone seemed to have some English type accent in this book. I don't remember that being the case in the other books.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes. When Simon volunteered to make his sacrifice for everyone else's safety. It was definitely a Simon thing to do. I got a little emotional thinking about what he was sacrificing and what it meant to everyone else.

Great Conclusion to the Series

This was the best book in this series. A lot of loose ends were tied up. I also love the fact that it was not a happy ending for all the characters, but a realistic ending. I am very glad that I kept listening to the series. This book alone made it worth it.
