About this listen

Welcome to the city of Secrets & Sin

When I inherit a haunted bookstore in New Orleans, I go from demon hunter to my dream job. Unfortunately, there’s a dark side to my beautiful new life—the gorgeous demon who seems to think he owns the place.

The attraction between us is insane, and we can’t keep our eyes off each other. But I don’t trust him one bit—especially not the way he uses his seductive charms to try to compel me to work for him.

When a young girl is kidnapped from right outside my house, he’s the first person on my mind. I just can’t figure out if he’s the culprit or my fiercest protector. But I do know he has answers. And I have to resist his dangerous allure, because to give in is to risk losing everything—including my life.

City of Night is the first in the Secrets & Sin trilogy. It's got enemies to lovers, fated mates, and a tortured hero who is absolutely obsessed with the heroine (but doesn't want to be).

Awesome Narrator!

The story was okay and kind of predictable, but I’m not that picky.

The narrator was awesome!

Kept me interested from beginning to end

I have had a hard time keeping my interest in books lately. This book was awesome and kept me interested. Talon was fierce without being an a**hole!

Great beginning of a new series

Loved the plot, the characters, the world building. Cannot wait for book 2 I want to know so much more about Talon and Cora. Fiona is wonderful too, I really want to know how she died. And I know there’s more to Balthazar then meets the eye. Laurel Schroeder perfect narrator for the book.

Could have been

I’m sorry but I honestly cannot stand to listen to Laurel Schroeder and I’m not sure how the performance got what it did.. her cadence ruins the story.. it’s so repetitive that I lose my place in what’s going on and just.. I just can’t..

Love the story!

Absolutely love all of Lindsey Hall's work. Unfortunately, sometimes I forget who the narrator is when purchasing the Audible version of her books. Schroeder's cadence, tone, and breathlessness(?) makes for a hard listen. If I speed the narration to 1.25, I can sometimes get through a book.

No originality

Story reads like most unlikely mates story... they meet, girl instantly develops incorrect idea and guy... guy doesn't tey to clarify but tries to overpower her negative opinion by being secretive and throwing money at the problem. The girl tries hard to hate the guy the whole book and just end up making things more difficult for herself while we all know whatever is happening doesn't mattet in end because they will end up together.... boring!
