She’s an alien warrior dedicated to her job, but a tough, handsome Terran captain is a temptation she never expected.
As a female Eon warrior, Second Commander Airen Kann-Felis has fought for her career and is proud of her work aboard the warship, the Rengard. She has no time for men or frivolous pleasures, especially with the deadly insectoid Kantos causing the Eon trouble at every turn. When the Eon Empire makes an alliance with the small planet of Earth, she never expected to be working alongside a man like Sub-Captain Donovan Lennox, a good-looking, smart, and tenacious man who tempts her in ways she’s never been tempted before.
Donovan Lennox was born for space, and he’s happy to be aboard a high-tech Eon warship and helping to take down the Kantos. He’s even happier to work with the disciplined, independent female Eon warrior who is very easy on the eyes. Donovan believes in respect and pleasure, but what he doesn’t believe in is the myth of love. It was the one lesson his loser dad managed to teach him. As Donovan tries to tempt Airen into playing with him, she’s keeping her walls up, even as every second they spend together draws them closer.
When Airen and Donovan are on a shuttle mission together, they find themselves under attack by the Kantos and forced to crash-land on a deadly prison planet. With only each other to depend on, both of them will have to learn to trust each other, or they stand no chance at winning the race to survive the Kantos, or the prison planet’s dangerous creatures and bloodthirsty criminals.

Good story. I liked the characters and their chemistry. Could've used with a little more character building as well as relationship growth. That was a little hollow. But over all I liked the story pretty well
NARRATOR REVIEW.........
The narrator did okay with the reading for the most part. Some of the voices could've been better but over all is was okay
good

First, as a person of color I don't appreciate the stereotypes written into the male character's past or present, or the way the female lead, Airen, fetishizes Donovan's skin color and body in the first chapter. Could have done without that all together.
Second, the lack of respect that Donovan has for Airen's boundaries was totally NOT awesome, including touching her when she doesn't want to be touched, kissing her after she made it very clear that she didn't want a relationship with him. Then, next thing I know they are walking all over each other's boundaries.
Third, Airen is a warrior in her own right, yet the author felt the need to have the hero save her at least 3 times by Chpt. 4. And when Donovan disregarded a direct order from Airen in front of her team, I was done.
Then came more ignoring of boundaries, more dysfunctional & impulsive behavior that would NEVER be allowed in ANY military unit regardless of the excuses given, alien or not. Double done...just like Airen says a million times in Chpt. 4 right before the hero ignores her wishes and the heroine ignores the fact that he ignored her.
Good grief.
We could have skipped this one

The shallowness of the story is also wearing on me. The plots and largely faceless characters appear only long enough to move the romance along. For instance, a group of women come to the rescue, but once the danger is over and our couple escape, is there any mention of helping those women? Nope.
Part of me thinks I should have stopped with books 1 and 3, because every other book is just a variation of book 1.
If you heard one, you’ve heard them all
