About this listen

Clouds & Daydreams
is the omegaverse so sweet it gives you cavities!

Sweet artist omega Bailey-Rose is dumped by the only man she thought would love her because of her congenital heart condition. Cut off from being able to participate in the national Scent Matching services Bailey-Rose has decided she will be single for life after this heartbreak.

In a surprising turn of events, who should show up in the middle of her pity party but her brother's best friend? Unbeknownst to her, Ulysses has moved back to town after years of traveling for work. Not only is Bailey-Rose stunned to find him in her room looking like a broken-hearted trash panda—but discovers they are a scent-match.

Now, all that's left to do is meet the rest of the pack and pray they won't see her as the broken Omega the world keeps telling her she is. Will it be worth it to try love one more time? To risk putting her fragile heart in the hands of men she's never met?

So begins the story of learning what real unconditional love looks like.

SUGARY SWEET OMEGAVERSE

Omegaverse is my book trope equivalent of cotton candy- airy, fluffy, rots my teeth, and you're not ALWAYS in the mood for it. But when I am, it's the sweetest most delicious treat ever...and you just keep nomming on that delectable spun sugar bc it does down so easy and tastes like happiness.

So, when I'm in an omegaverse headspace, normally it's because I need something gentle, saccharine, and squishy. (i veer more to the SWEET omegaverse vs. dark) Normally because I'm in a fragile place for whatever reason emotionally and this trope ALWAYS makes me feel whole. So, that being said, I dove into this KNOWING that I wanted teeth rotting adorableness- and that's exactly what I got. If romantic angst was on a 1-10 scale, this would be like a negative 5 LOL. The guys are all ridiculously over the top in love with her, they bend over backwards to care for her and dote on her, and they treat her like she's a fragile treasure. AND I ATE THAT ISH UP. I especially loved something I see less often- an omega with a life threatening chronic health condition. It makes for a really interesting set up (she can't go into heat, spice is hard on her heart, she IS fragile in some ways) and made for even more over the top protective and caregiving alphas.

I can definitely see how some reviewers may find this less engaging- and if I hadn't been in my headspace for over the top sweetness I might have found this a bit bland and slow, but for me it was just what I wanted. There is very little plot other than courting, it DOES feel slow towards the end, and it's a slower burn- which is NOT what you expect in an omegaverse. There is some spice, but we don't have much penetrative sex (or knotting), no full heats, it all feels very vanilla...but I think book 2 will open up the door for more. I liked the pack of guys- many actually do have compelling personalities and backstories (three of them more than the other two), and our omega is quite literally Polly Pocket meets Pollyanna. It does end on a cliffhanger.

The dual narrated audio was really enjoyable. Alex Kydd is SO underrated and he does a great job performing all of the guys voices and he always can deliver SWOONY but edgey guys- so he's perfect for omegaverse truly. And Caitlin Elizabeth I know less about as a narrator, but I liked her here as our Bailey Rose. She's very sweet and vulnerable in her voice but also has a little sass and spine.

What to expect:
-omegaverse
-RH (5 alphas, one omega, no MM)
-slow burn
-chronic illness rep
-mental health rep
-trauma bonding
-scent match/fated mates
-over protective brothers (an omega with a supportive family!)
-minor age gap (about 5-7 years in pack, heroine is right out of college)
-major caretaking and major over protective alphas
-they spoil her
-wealthy pack and omega
-they are OBSESSED/all golden retrievers
-she's an artist
-low angst
-cliffhanger

it's so good

I absolutely love this story. The love and care they give Bailey Rose is magnificent. The cliffhanger makes me want to listen to the next book now.

Such a cute but heartfelt story

Bailey Rose isn’t able to be in scent matching due to her genetic disorder. She has just been through a bad breakup and is trying to work through things when her scent matches crash into her lap. The guys are amazing and so supportive of her. The story does end in a doozy of a cliffhanger. I enjoyed the audiobook. My only complaint would be the interpretation of one of the narrators for the character with an accent. It was a little too staccato for my liking. But it doesn’t distract from the story itself.

Best story ever.

At the first ten chapters, I almost cried and laughed to death so many times I can't count at this point. But the last chapter, the I cried and I don't easily cry especially form a book so close to the riders for making this beautiful story. But I do have one suggestion, kill Randolph genuinely I just can't stand him every time he comes up in the story, I want to punch a wall and then his face but I still want to. Though this story is one of the best I've ever heard in my entire life.
