About this listen

Caught between two rival packs….

Goodbye heartache, liars, and cheats. I’m hot-tailing it to the city to escape all my problems.

What I don’t expect is to find a whole heap more.

Right at the top of the pile: turns out I’m not the beta I always believed.

Nope, I’m an omega.

How do I know? Because the freaking hot alpha, Axel York, I bump into at the gas station, triggers all those repressed hormones and pheromones.

Hormones and pheromones I’m battling to control.

Then there’s his pack. Rich, powerful, ruthless. The pack every omega wants.

Thing is, they’re not interested in the city’s pampered princesses. They want me.

As do their arch rivals, Pack Boston.

Just as rich, just as powerful and just as freaking hot.

Now I’m caught in the middle of this tussle to claim me, struggling to determine what’s real and what’s false.

One thing I know for certain, neither pack is willing to lose.

This novel is part one of a duet—happy ending coming in part two.

If you love the sauciness and steam of omegaverse with the sweetness of contemporary romance, heroes with hard shells and soft interiors, and heroines who fight for what they want, you’ll love Hannah Haze’s soft and steamy books—omegaverse set in our world.

Great book superb narration

I enjoyed this book a lot when I read it. I LOVED the narration though. It’s duet and the narrators navigate different character accents phenomenally. Listening to this was like being in the story. So worth it.

So far so good…

Good plot, somewhat fleshed-out characters, and the LFC doesn’t make many of the typical silly random but life-altering decisions.

The narrators are great, although at times Sierra Taft comes off very Bridgette Bardeaux-ish. (I don’t buy BB books. She’s awful.)

Liking where I think it's going...

***Minor spoiler - Don't read any further if you don't want to know***

I'm actually not really sure why I liked this. I think all the back and forth drama was interesting to me. I really wanted to know Angel and Axel's connection and why they hate each other so much. I think I figured it out right away though. I think the author could have made the connection between them a bit more vague, but I get what she was trying to do.

I also want to know how Conner and Bea know each other. Hopefully that will come up in the next book.

I agree with another reviewer who said that Angel/Axel, Conner/Silver, Nate/Hardy seem to be interchangeable and not distinguished enough to know them apart. Similar personalities and types in each pack. would have been a bit more interesting if they were very different. The only thing is, Conner seems to have a European accent and no one has said why that is.

That all being said, I'm still interested to get the next audible installment and figure out what the heck is going on. LOL

Can you say awesome sauce

I’ll do a fast summary on my take of story

Story starts out with a beta running away from her hometown. Her ex screwed her up emotional and she wants to start anew. She moves in her a family member and gets a new job. She soon finds out she’s an omega and has no idea how to handle. Not mention she’s a country girl in the city.
She start meeting new alphas and wants nothing to do with them but they talk there way into friendship. The 2 pacts she really likes. Hate each other and she kind of ignores that bit. Treating them fairly and being truthful.
They go through struggles and she got a choice to make.

The story is pretty bad ass. I mean I kind of live it. Funny and hard to put down. The female lead character is a strong women and different from many of her own kind. It draws people to her.
The male characters are funny and interesting to listen to. They are mafia type groups and do bad things when needed. But are also good.
The book ends with a cliffhanger like no other. So I would not start this unless you want to buy the second one.
Sexy bits are little to non. More of a build up. With the story being so good. Does not really matter.

Readers/narrators did a great job. Really the best job. My first time listening to them and I’ll keep there names on my list to keep an eye out for there books.
Also the first boom from this author and I’m looking to buy more. Home run on this one and I suggest you get this book.

Terrible.

Dont waste your money. Horrible accents by the male narrator. Terrible story. You can see the ending from the first few chapters. Slow and monotonous.
