Publisher's summary

We fell in love during the campaign. The stakes were high. Reputations could have been ruined. Scandal hovered over us like a cloud. Now the man I love is the President of the United States of America. And it's not my vote he's after. He wants it all - my heart, my body, my soul. He wants me by his side. In the White House. Normalcy will be gone from my life, privacy forgotten.

I am only 23. I just wanted to play a part in history. But it seems like history wasn't done with me. The part where I lost my heart to Matthew Hamilton? It was only the beginning.

A SWEET & SWOON-WORTHY SEQUEL

Since their heartbreaking agreed split on election night two months ago, Matthew is missing Charlotte badly and wants her by his side so Mr. President forms a plan to woo and win his First Lady. Charlotte has been abroad trying to mend her broken heart but it's impossible as Matt was perfect in every way and she knows she'll never ever get over him but completely understands his reasoning behind their split and is fully supportive of his decision. So Charlotte's more than surprised when he tells her of his change of heart and also his heartfelt desire to have her by his side.. but Charlotte doesn't want to rush into anything.. and the forty-sixth US President does.

This was such a sweet and passionate love story between two absolutely selfless people who deserved each other and their beautiful HEA ending. There really wasn't any drama or angst because all they wanted was each other.. and to give everything they could into making their time at the Whitehouse count.. for the people, for politics and for themselves. There were tender scenes, romantic scenes and sexy scenes too as they tried to juggle a relationship and a term in office.. which did include a crisis or two. Dual POV's and John Lane's performance was good.. and Isabelle Gordon's was ok.

Worth a credit? Yes.. this was a very enjoyable well-paced Duet with lots of feel-worthy moments as the handsome dream-worthy hero declares his love and loyalty to me.. no? sigh alright alright to the sweet heroine then ok :))

I loved this series!

This is the amazing conclusion to the White House series. We have spent the last two books falling in love with the president and his First Lady. Both Matt and Charlotte fell in love before they realized what their feelings meant. Now all these years later and they are finally husband and wife but that is not all that is store for them.

They must decide to start a family, run for another campaign and when they will get to be alone...

I loved this series and would love to see more of them in the future!

Strong Start Weak Ending

With Mr. President ending on a cliff hanger, I was anxious to see where Matt and Charlotte were left after he was voted President of the United States. Charlotte, heartbroken and sad leaves the country in hopes of getting over Matt. Matt, realizing that he s miserable with her, decides he's going to get her back and be with her. Running a country is a big responsibility and I can image why Matt was so skeptical about getting involve with Charlotte. However I thought his was of going about it was a little shady. In both books, he gets close to her by employing her. It would be such a scandal if it were to happen in the real world.

However, everybody seem to be swept up in their love story. It was really cute. I only wish there had been more of an opposition. I highly doubt that if a young, president with no ties to any specific political party would be able to carry on a romance within the White House and receive little to no blowback. Even in Matt's search for the his father's killer, there was no fire in the story. While I loved Matt and Charlotte, after awhile, it felt like one big epilogue for the first book.

Most of this is from Charlotte's perspective which means we hear more from Isabelle Gordon than from John Lane. Both gave solid performances.

Romantic

This book makes you fall in love with the idea of freedom and democracy. It reminds you why we strive to be in a country were you are freedom to choose. It also reminds you of the live of love and how love can overcome a multitude of things and still flourish. The dual narration makes the story even more beautiful and passionate. It is truly worth the credit I spent. I'm so glad to have such a beautiful tale in my collection.

Sweet story

No angst or hard drama. An easy listen in a time when we need less drama. Can’t wait to complete the series.

I loved the fairy tale.

Book two and not a stand-alone (you first need to read Mr. President (White House Book 1). I found COMMANDER IN CHIEF well-written, compelling and a beautiful fairy-tale. Hero, Matt, and heroine, Charlotte, are likeable and dedicated to the American people, and devoted to each other. I enjoyed their love story and all the milestones they reached in their lives at the top level of Government and responsibility in the United States. I appreciated the writing style, and felt the warmth, tenderness, respect and love throughout this novel – with a kick-ass President. Loved it.

It didn't have a major conflict, heart-wrenching angst, heartbreak, misunderstandings causing pain, a rift that broke up the lovers. None of that. It had two loving individuals who were on the same page, and I could not put this novel down. Quite refreshing.

A great conclusion to this two book set. Great narration. Highly recommended.

feel good heartwarming story

this book reminds me of John F Kennedy and Jackie O and John John and Caroline Kennedy. Obviously, not exactly, but almost as storybook like. Very enjoyable reading.

Commanded my Attention

I was once again swept into this political world. This charming story began in book one, revolving around a letter the heroine wrote to the hero when she was just a child. Fast forward a decade and Charlotte is drawn back into Matthew's world... during his presidential campaign when their chemistry explodes. It's both sexy and sweet with just enough political intrigue to keep it real. And now that he's president, thier relationship takes on a new dimension though the focus remains on their relationship - the heated attraction, their shared political views, and the love... oh, the sweet, love. The conclusion is perfect but im definitely glad i listened to the books back to back.

Again, strong narration.
