Useful for first pregnancy
The book provides with a lot of information which a woman who hasn't had to deal with babies needs to know and will find helpful. I liked that there were no definite magical golden rules to fit all and that the writer stresses the individuality of the experience. Even though I live in Russia and we have a little bit different structure to the medical services, the information of the majority of the book is rather universal.
One minus though, I learnt from that book about the possibility of storing umbilical cord blood cells and having researched the topic with a lot of promises and no real scientific data to support any of the proclaimed benefits as well as mentioning the risks involved in using stem cells, left me disappointed believing that the writer either hadn't done her research on the topic or was paid off to mention it.

Learned a whole lot more than expected
. The parts about hormonal changes and how to recognize them in your own body set of a light bulb above my head. I read sections out of order and reread some, Overall I really enjoyed this book. It also served as an introduction and I took some of the topics and conducted further research.

Great for new parents.
We got this book when I was pregnant years ago, so when my nephew was getting ready for his baby's arrival we had to get him a copy, too. Solid baby care manual that doesn't take itself too seriously.

A great companion book!
This is a great companion book......as in addition to a medical book. This tells you things to expect, as well the emotional ups and downs that medical books don't discuss in detail. This is not a weekly development book. This is based on one woman's experiences. Plus it's told with humor, and is a nice switch after reading the medical jargon. Since this is my first pregnancy, I found her insight and info really helpful. She states very clearly this is not a medical book, and she is not a doctor. This is a great read and works great as a COMPANION to medical books.

Best ever
I buy this book for everyone because it seriously works. My daughter was sleeping through the night immediately after we got it and she now sleeps from 7:30pm to 8am every morning. I am so thankful I found this book!
