A fantastic series about the Mongols. Each book was gripping and fascinating. Iggulden is an unbelievable storyteller. The only drawback is that the history, while remaining true to the broad strokes, was not accurate. Many events were oversimplified, characters were eliminated and historical events changed or overlooked. Some of this is necessary in any work of historical fiction and it did not detract from the enjoyment of the story. In addition, I believe he captured the brutality and the pathos of the Mongol Empire. Overall, a verisimilar account. Richard Ferrone is the best narrator I have ever encountered in years of listening to audiobooks!

You will think you are riding in the tumans with Genghis and Kublai!
