Publisher's summary

A Victorian countess doesn't belong on a ranch, and a frosty cowboy knows nothing about raising a family. When the two have no choice but to rely on each other, is there any hope for happiness, let alone true love?

Lady Evelyn Lyon lost her husband and her fortune on the same day. Daughter in hand, she makes her way to the copper mines of Arizona, hoping her husband's stock in the Bisbee Copper Queen mine will make it possible for her to raise her little girl. Every man she's known has failed her, and she would far rather be alone than dependent on one. When the stock certificates in her possession prove fraudulent, Evelyn and her little girl are more alone than ever.

Chris Morgan, known as "Frosty" by cowhands and neighbors alike, never expected to have a family. When his cousin back east dies and leaves Chris with two children to raise, Chris has no choice but to change his plans. But raising children and running a ranch at the same time is a tall order. He's at his wit's end when he comes across a British noblewoman who has no business wandering around the desert without protection. When he learns her story, Chris knows they might be the solutions to each other's problems.

A hasty wedding and dusty ride to Chris' ranch starts their marriage of convenience off on a bumpy road. With children to raise and cattle to herd, Evelyn and Chris have no choice but to trust each other. But in the West, trust is hard-won, and it's hard to grow anything...especially love.

Copper for the Countess is Book Two in the Hearts of Arizona Series, but it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone romance.

Sweet Love Story

This is one of my very favorite books and I have listened to it several times. To be honest, I’m not usually a fan of westerns at all but you can’t beat the combination of Sally Britton & Marion Hussey.

Frosty & Evelyn have such a sweet story and watching their relationship develop just makes me smile every time. The way this rugged, single cowboy throws his heart open wide to the children given into his care and then again with Evelyn and Maddie is beautiful. This is one of my go-to’s when I want an easy, no angst read that makes my heart happy.

And Marion Hussey’s performance is stellar. So many English actors/performers over-do an American accent but hers sounds very natural. Even the nuances when she voices Ruthie and Ed are exceptional. Her performance pulls you into the story and makes you feel all the emotions.

What a Steamy Clean Western Romance!

Lovely story! Narrator pronouncing marquis incorrectly was a bother. A bit too sexy for my clean romance tastes.

Favorite out of series

I enjoyed listening to this one much more than the silver dollar Duke. It had a more positive vibe. Only complaint is her eye color was described differently throughout the book. We’re they green, honey or brown???

Loved!

I’m continuing to enjoy this series of English peerage being plopped on a ranch. It’s perfect if you can’t decide if you want a western or a novel set in England. Thank you, Sally, for solving that problem in one story.

I've been anticipating Frosty's story and did not disappoint! Frosty intrigued me when we first meet him in Silver Dollar Duke, and I wondered what made him tick. Then two children land on his doorstep and his ordered ranching world is thrown to the wind.

Lady Evelyn Lyon comes across Frosty's path, with too much sorrow in her life, but as hope grows living on the ranch she transforms into Evie. Her daughter and the other children bring laughter and pull the adults together more often than they would prefer.

Sprinkle in all of the lovable characters from the first book supporting the story and offering wisdom, animals, and a little villainy for color and you have a wonderful clean read that'll keep you turning pages. Or, as in my case, keep you from hitting pause on the audiobook.

A Clean Victorian-American Romance

What a beautifully written story. Well developed characters, lush descriptions (but not overly done), without any sex.
The narrator pulls you into the story with her great voices, and emotion.
The author truly creates a story that allows your imagination to become fully engaged!
Just loved this book! Highly recommend!

Good but Dragged a Bit at Times

3 1/2 stars. I’ve loved everything written by Sally Britton but I would say this one dragged a little bit more for me than any of her other books I’ve read so far which is just about every book she’s written. She’s still an amazing author and an automatic read for me whenever she releases a new story.
