About this listen

"I love you, Max Butcher."

Those words are dangerous. Just about as dangerous as the world I was born into. As dangerous as the ruthless bastards that I call family.

They hurt her. My little ballerina. My piece of purity. I wanted to keep the world beautiful for her. I failed.

So I should let her go. For her own safety and my sanity. But she crawled into my bed...and settled in my head.

Cassidy Slater.

Her sweet-talking mouth says those dangerous words. Words I didn't know that I craved. She waits for me at night. Accepts the darkness around me. Now that's not something a man just lets go of.

I'm a selfish bastard too. And she's mine.

I'll protect her; it's an eye for an eye and I'm willing to blind the whole damn lot of them. For her, I'll start a damn war.

Cosa Nostra is book two in the Kids of The District series. It features a powerful and moody hero and an endearing and determined heroine. Both main characters are possessive and fight for each other. It is a love story first, word steam second. Violence, gore, and drama third.

Max’s love for Cassidy

Well written, with strong hero who falls for a nerdy ballerina when other women do not keep his attention. My only complaint is the last few chapters and their separation. Would have enjoyed a different ending more.

Brilliant!

These two narrators did an incredible job. Georgia brought me to tears and I could feel the anger coming from Rupert’s chest. Nicci’s writing is perfect

As fabulous as I could have hoped for!

Such a beautiful story! It gets me no matter how many times I read it, and now that I can listen also... I know this will be an audiobook I'll be listening to again at some point.

Max and Cassidy's love story is beautiful beyond words. This second installment of their duet proves that. No matter all that they went through and how many times my heart broke for them, they still came out the other side strong and unrelenting in their love for one another. I didn't know I could fall in love with Max Butcher any more than I already was until Cosa Nostra.

There's always a fear that narrators won't do your beloved characters justice, but I didn't feel that with this one. I adored every minute of listening to Max and Cassidy's story. I could feel the love, the rage, and the intensity of these characters and their story through these narrators.

I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone who lives for dark, stormy, intense mafia romance with all the heat and love you can pour into it!

This book will destroy you in the best ways!

Book 1 in the duet built us up to love and really root for Cassidy and max in every way. We watched her love him unconditionally and him come to accept and crave his feelings for her!

This book picks up right where book 1 left off which I love. I cant stand jumps in time where details get left out. Not the case here. The journey continues as Max and Cassidy continue to love and lean on one another, learning to navigate being together in Max's world which he has never questioned until now and where Cassidy was sheltered from the harsh realities. Some of those harsh realities come crashing down around them and they are forced to endure for the sake of love and the long term. This story line will have you screaming, crying, maybe even tossing the book... but I promise you will be so hooked you will pick it up and dive right back in. Its SO good.

The editing and grammar are so well done that there is no distraction from the flow of the plot or the ease of reading the story. The writing is beautifully done, and the plot is so well thought out that is lends to a truly amazing reading experience. Huge props to the author!

This book is also available on Audio with the amazing Georgia Hart once again bringing sweet Cassidy to life with the perfect blend of sweet and strong and Rupert Channing voicing the gruff bad boy, Max Butcher. Both do a spectacular job!

Not the worst

The book I isn’t bad but the main female character is super annoying and really makes me want to skip the rest. I only finished this book because I don’t like to leave things unfinished.
