About this listen

Clint Black runs the biggest operation in Montana. He has his own personal army of cutthroats - and he doesn't like competition. The trouble begins when Smoke Jensen brings 3,500 head of cattle up from Colorado to sell to Black's neighbor. More bloodthirsty than businesslike, Clint sets up a roadblock, backed by the biggest guns in the territory. Then he sends word out to Smoke Jensen: Back down or die.

Contains mature themes.

barry was great and oh so heroic. Very emotional scene in an outstanding action packed episode. people like Smoke and Barry are needed in the here and now. the sift underbelly of the US has been riding roughshod over individual rights. smoke predicted it so well.

barry was great

Another outstanding story and the narrator J Rodney Turner has the perfect voice for telling western stories I hope he does all of the mountain man and last mountain man series

It was a little predictable but still a good story and worth listening too. I enjoy J Rodney Turner more than Jack Garrett

Worth the credit

We thought this one very good . We really enjoy J Rodney Tuner as a narrator he sounds like a mountain man should.

Very entertaining

This book as others in this series combines the geographical placement of a Louis L’ Amour western and the action of a an Hollywood western from the 1950s. I have stood in some of the areas described in the book. As I have said the events in these books are wild exaggerations of what things were actually like but in no way diminish their entertainment value.

Movie of the mind.
