About this listen

A full-length romantic suspense with a HEA!

Includes a Chapter 1 preview of Blown by an Inconvenient Wind by Hildred Billings.

Jade Emerson didn't take up a job in private security to be paired with her worst nightmare. But that's what she gets when her boss sends her on assignments with former FBI agent Stella Moore, who is brash, forgetful...and dangerously hot.

Their tenuous attraction is at times exactly what they need and at other times a detriment to their clients. That is until a frightened wife hires them to protect her and her infant...from her husband.

The rainy city of Portland has seen its share of female couples, but these two are thornier than the City of Roses. Can they overcome their dating pasts to save a woman in need? Or are they doomed to crash and burn...taking half the city with them?

This audiobook is set in the same universe as Hildred and Cynthia's other romances, meaning you may see some old familiar faces!

I love these writers but OMG get a new narrator. It would have been better with a virtual voice! I couldn't even finish the book. I know the book was great but this narrator makes me want to puke and no I am not kidding. I find it difficult to leave a bad reviews on any book but I really want my money back on this narrated book. PLEASE redo this book and offer it with a new narrator.

HORRIBLE NARRATOR!

Not sure if anyone listened to this narration before releasing it? It was very difficult to listen too. People don't not talk with each other the way the narrator performed this book. I hope these writers don't use this narrator again.

Narrator was not good; love the writers.

have the book and I thought I would listen to it on audio. it was ok, you know when you read the book you get a voice in your head for what the characters sound like. Well the voice in my head and the narrator voice of Stella were totally off, although I thought she did a good job on the other characters. I like the author and her books I would rate it at a 4.

love the book

Lately, I have been reading all of these books, and I’ve enjoyed most of them. This one, however, was not the best, mainly because of the reader. Her voice bothered me so much, and I don’t think that she should have ever been allowed to read this book.

Not a fan of the reader!

Being from Portland, it was great that I could relate to the city well and the frame of mind of the people there. Hell, I have definitely stood in Powell's looking at the lesbian sections as they did. The narrator also pronounced Tigard as "Tie-guard" which caught me off guard hearing it so many times though. Overall, the story line was great though and I love that the main character wasn't afraid of being open about her sexuality. Plus women kicking some ass is always a plus! ;)

Great story!

This has been the worst narrator I have heard in quite some time. As another already mentioned, Stella's voice, a main character, is sooooooooo bad. These authors really do write great and steamy stories, so I stumbled through. There are bits that could be laugh out loud funny, but the narrator. PLEASE rerecord with a different narrator. if you are thinking about buying this, don't. Buy the paperback or ebook, this is painful. Literally listened to the last two hours in chipmunk double time, so I could have closure with the story.

Story is great, so read the book

This audible was very bad. The narrator was terrible. The voices for characters really was awful . Even the
sex scenes were bad. I couldn't stand to hear her voice it was like chalk on a blackboard. Maybe it wouldn't
have been so bad if it was another narrator. I forward faster all through audio. And it was too long to be so
bad.

Terrible

First of all, I have loved all previous books that I have listened too written by this author (6). Detectives, cops, military, medical are my go to for WLW novels. I was super excited to read the description of this one.
However, I read the reviews but didn't listen, I didn't listen to the audio sample.
And I paid for the lack of attention.
I don't know how a narrator is chosen to read the books that they do, but this narrator's performance is a solid no. From the first page, her tone was as if she was reading to kindergarteners, then it was time for Stella's voice. Dear God, its high and screechy, simply terrible. I cant believe this is the tone all through the book. The story is probably good but I wont ever know from this performance.
I bought this, didn't use a credit so I can't return it. If there were a clearinghouse to gift audiobooks, I would gladly give this one away.
