How could the performance have been better?
This is not the right narrator for this book - or this series of books for that matter. While I'm sure Ms. Toren is talented and does well with other books, she should not be narrating this one. She makes everybody sound like a little old lady - except the men, the men all sound a little like Eeyore. (Seriously, cannot tell the difference between Norman and Mike's "hi, Hannah" and I expect one of them to say, "It's a nice day, if you like them bright and sunny" at any moment.Any additional comments?
I've been reading the Hannah Swenson books on and off for years, and of course I watch the Hallmark movies. I know there are differences in the Hannah described in the book and Allison Sweeny's Hannah, and generally I'm ok with it. I also know there are differences in the other residents of Lake Eden (between the book and movie versions) - but I have the hardest time with Delores. Maybe it's the narration, but this audiobook make her sound like a nervous, weak, elderly shell of a woman - the movie shows her more confident. I have a hard time reconciling the Delores in my head with this one.The Narration is Killing Me Slowly
