About this listen

A bizarre series of incidents take place on a usually tranquil lake. Boats are found ravaged, a body torn in two, other people are missing and an injured victim cries of a monster. Chief of Police Morgan Sydney must face the reality that a huge monster is lurking in the lake. With bulletproof scales, territorial aggression, and an insatiable appetite, the beast causes mayhem in the peaceful town. To destroy the creature, Sydney must form an alliance with the sheriff, a local lodge employee, his ex-wife, and an eccentric biologist who has a theory on what the creature is and its origins.

Great Way to Pass the Time

This was a solid lake-Jaws, though the narrator bugged me a little bit - especially when he pronounced the title "crevice" instead of "crevasse." His inflections were a little odd, too, but overall was still a solid book to listen to in the background. I enjoyed the "scientific" explanations for why the creature exists. As usual, Michael Cole delivers a solid creature feature!

Ok listen for running

I liked most of the characters in the story. Narration was ok. I prefer dramatized versions

story was okay, reading was so-so

the book itself was entertaining and amusing in most parts. but sometimes the narrator got the "voices" mixed up. the mayor (a man) sounded like a woman to me and some of the characters sounded exactly alike. made it hard sometimes to follow a conversation where there were four or more people.

Creature from the Crevasse

Not a bad story, over sized ocean animals like the thresher shark and the helicoprion in the other two books from this author I read. Kind of found him stretching it a bit though with a orca sized lake bass but it was full of excitement and fun to read.

Boring narration.

I couldn't even finish this book because the narration is so computerized sounding. It's just blah and really monotone. I love Michael Cole's books and I won't stop listening to them but unfortunately ,and sadly, the narration on this one killed it for me.

Let’s Go Fishing

Creature from the Crevasse by Michael Cole is a great creature feature story. The plot flowed really well as did its characters. I found the overall story exciting from beginning to end. Joel was my personal favorite character in this one. The creature of this one I found quite interesting. The Carno Bass was just as deadly as any shark. The narrator Nathan Westhoff did a phenomenal job bringing this story to life. All in all I would recommend Creature from the Crevasse to anyone and everyone who loves a non stop creature feature thrill ride.

Pretty standard B-Movie plot

not the worst creature feature, not the best creature feature. predictable, standard action movie characters with their witty quips and one-liners. no complaints about the writing; it scratches the itch.

the narrator was below average, though. you could tell he was in his house bc he whispered all the yelling like he was afraid to disturb anyone with loud noises xD. overall he didna good job, especially the female characters, surprisingly. biggest pet peeve is the fact that he literally mispronounces the title of the story. Instead of "crevasse" he says "crevice" which I guess are more or less synonyms but it hits the ear wrong.

It’s Jaws in Bass form

Great as just a filler audio book. But it is just a Jaws remix in a prehistoric large mouth bass form. Some scenes are exact duplicates.
