Publisher's summary

While catering a gala for the Cruz Museum, Nora Charles agrees to look into the disappearance of director Violet Crenshaw's niece, a case previously undertaken by her frisky feline friend Nick's former owner, a private eye whose whereabouts are also currently unknown.

As Nora and her curious cat Nick pull at the string of clues, they begin to unravel a twisted tale of coded messages, theft, false identities, murder, and international espionage. Nora dares to hope that the labyrinth of leads will not only help them locate the missing young woman, but also solve the disappearance of the detective. That's if Nora can stay alive long enough to find him.

Love Nick The Cat!!

I liked the story very much! The narrator was dry and boring. So many good/great stories are ruined by not so good narration!

Crime and Catnip bk3

Loved it. Loved the key to Nick's disappearance. Very clever and as a cat lover I really love the integration of Nick with his amazing qualities. Loved bk 1 and 2 as well.

THIS IS A GEM OF A BOOK

I RECENTLY DISCOVERED THIS SERIES AND COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH EACH BOOK. THE PROTAGONIST IS INTELLIGENT, CONFIDENT, YET SO REAL. SHE DOESN'T WASTE TIME SECOND GUESSING HERSELF, NOR DOES SHE RELY ON A CAREER, A MAN, OR ANYTHING ELSE TO DEFINE HER. YET, SHE DOES THIS WITHOUT BEING BRASH OR INDESTRUCTIBLE, AND SHE IS FEMININE WITHOUT BEING VAIN OR FUSSY. I WANT TO BE THIS WOMAN. I ALSO LIKE THE OTHER CHARACTERS IN THESE BOOKS AND THEIR RELATIONSHIPS WITH EACH OTHER. THE STORYLINE IS INTERESTING WITH ENOUGH TWISTS AND TURNS AND LEVELS TO ENTERTAIN AND KEEP YOU GUESSING; AND THE NARRATION IS GREAT.

Scolding the cat is useless

Nora is asked to solve a mystery while catering an event for the museum, and trying to figure out what happened to her cat's former owner. The events are a tangle, yet Nora manages to straighten them out. Her cat, Nick, is intelligent and helps Nora, yet she frequently scolds him when he gives her clues. A cat who knows what Scrabble tiles are for, is worthy of praise.

Hoping there will be more Nick and Nora books!

I have enjoyed the three books of this series, and I really want more. Nick is such a special cat, and helps Nora investigate crimes. As an avid cat person, and an avid reader, I love stories that recognize the unique talents of our furry friends.

What a great series

I have really enjoyed the Nick and Nora series, and this book is a great addition. I truly enjoy stories where animals take the lead, especially cats. I highly recommend this book.
