About this listen

This Pulitzer Prize-winner is a deeply touching and funny play about three eccentric sisters from a small Southern town rocked by scandal when Babe, the youngest, shoots her husband. Humor and pathos abound as the sisters unite with an intense young lawyer to save Babe from a murder charge, and overcome their family’s painful past. A BBC co-production.

It's clear why this is a Pulitzer-winning story

I downloaded this in anticipation of an audition for the same show. I'd never read it before, and never saw the film, so I really didn't know much of what it was about.

The story itself is very compelling, and I found myself wrapped up in the Magrath sisters' story. I found myself empathizing with Lenny, hating Meg, and becoming increasingly frustrated with Babe, but ultimately rooting for all of them.

Definitely a good listen.

I love this story

The narrators were awful. I guess it's had to beat Jessica Lange and Sissy Spacek.

Good for learning script

What disappointed you about Crimes of the Heart (Dramatized)?

Accents fake & Babe sounds retarded not crazy

Would you be willing to try another one of the narrators’s performances?

No

What character would you cut from Crimes of the Heart (Dramatized)?

Replace the actor for Babe

Any additional comments?

The accents were sooooo off target (I live in MS so I know). Poor performance. If you just want to read to learn lines ok but other than that do not waste te money

A complete waste of money

Poor acting, even poorer writing. Seems as if it was written by a 13 year old.
