Great series!

This was definitely more serious compared to some of the other shifter books by the author, but it was still pretty good. It dealt with some "adulting" themes well and there was good character development. It is well paced and keeps you engaged. I especially appreciated that it didn't drag unnecessarily even though there were windows to do so eg Renny didn't withhold important information from Caleb that could have easily made things go round in frustrating circles. Also loved the small nod to characters from the Kodiak Point series, the fact that they're all in the same universe just makes it all a little better.

Good, more for the military at heart

This book is a romantic love story with shifter and mystery, plus military.

Caleb after fighting for your country and you decide to go home, but nothing is what it use to be. Remember when you make a choice there are consequences. He had no idea what he left behind, even though the cold shoulders did not deter him from claiming his mate. Even though he not only has a broken heart to mend he has a mess to clean up, not to mention the memories that haunt him. Before he can more forward he must heal his past.

Renny has always loved Caleb, but when he up and left for the military with only a text, it not only hurt it shattered her. She too has to suffer the consequences of her actions, and the one thing that Caleb left behind has given her no choice but to keep going on without him. Working two jobs to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table is taking a toll on her and when out of the blue Caleb comes back in thinking he can save the day, Renny is not so willing to give in again.

Good book, but not my kind of story. I was a bit disappointed, there was not as much comedy in this book like her others.

Loved the story!

I liked the story and have it in book form. However, I did like the voice of the narrator. The voiced characters were poorly done.

Loved my first reptile shifter audible

I loved this book and now after "hearing" them come to life - I love this book even more. This is my first reptile shifter experience, and it was different.
Caleb came back after he basically ran away from everyone a few years ago, even the woman he loved. What he didn't know was he left more behind that he ever knew.
Renny knew Caleb came back. She knew that eventually they will have to see each other.
Caleb's reason for running is more than meets the eye and eventually it comes out.
At home there are things happening that are out of place and Caleb need to find out what it is before they come for his family.
PS I love all the tidbits with Princess in it and how she goes for the jugular.
I love this series!!!

Misunderstood crocodile 🐊

This book is fabulous it has everything I need for a good read intrigue, shifters, sex, unknown creatures and a good mystery. This is my first book from author Eve Langlais but it definitely will not be my last. The plot was excellent and the characters are believable. Well worth the money.

Take a bite out of this story

I enjoyed this shapeshifter story. It is not every day you have a shifter that is a reptile. What is Bittech actually working on? Where are the missing people in the town and who is creating "monsters"?As usual, Ms Langlais adds her brand of humor to the story. The secondary characters are strong and will appear again in the rest of the series. My only problem with the narration was that Ms Skyye pronounced the main character's name as Cal-in instead of Kay-lib

This story keeps you interested in the MYSTERY

Well written and engaging story. Filled with a suspense due to a mystery that unfolds and resolved situations that need answers. There were not any supporting characters of different races, colors or ethnicity except humans & shifters. But, there is a love story that a reader will cheer for and hope for the best. Worth a credit? yea, sure . I'm a sucker for Eve Langlais shifter stories. Still it is rare to find shifter romance with middle aged shifters story containing friends or co workers of different colors & cultures inter acting in a community.
