Publisher's summary

Emma Sutton knows she should be satisfied with her position at London's Central Telegraph Office. But ever since she was orphaned young, she's longed for a family of her own. Things look up when a handsome engineer is thrown into her orbit and he sends Emma the love note of her dreams.

Mitchell Harris' sharp wit and facility with a pen have enabled him to thrive despite serious obstacles. That the woman of his dreams works just one floor above his should make life perfect. But a childhood accident has left Mitchell convinced he'll never draw a woman like Emma Sutton's attention. When his best friend - who once saved his life - falls in love with Emma, too, and asks for help writing her love letters, Mitchell is torn between desire and loyalty. Believing the writer of the letters is the answer to her prayers, but confused over her growing attraction to Mitchell, Emma's heart must decide where to call home.

Intrigued from the start to the end!

One of the best books I’ve listen to in a long time! It flowed quickly from the beginning to the end and had surprises along the way! Love the Biblical undertones of Jennifer’s books. The narrator does an excellent job of an English accent and the language used for the time period is perfect! Would recommend this book to any of my friends.

First time I’ve ever started re-listening a book 3 days after I finished it.

I missed the characters so much I started listening to “Crossed Lines” only 3 days after finishing it the first time.
Loved Emma’s cheerful outlook, faith, and optimism, Mitchell’s kindness, restraint, vocabulary, and loyalty, Rose’s no nonsense personality, and “The Book.”
The narrator was perfect for this book! Enjoyed her many voices, clear enunciation, and the emotional depth she added to the characters.
I also appreciated that there were no sexually explicit scenes and no violence! It’s hard to find an engaging, clean story these days.
Thank you for this one!

Creative retelling of Cyrano

Narrator Bianca Amato does a magical job of bringing this lovely story to life. Enjoy the history about the telegraph industry in the late 1800s.

Took FOREVER to get going

I loved her first book in the series but man, seriously considered adding this one to the DNF pile. And in all my decades of reading, there are only a handful in that!
