About this listen

Nothing stops former Navy SEAL and Tier One operator John Dempsey from answering the call of duty - including a mission with the highest stakes he's ever faced. When one of the most brazen and lethal acts of terrorism rocks American and Israeli intelligence forces at the highest levels, Dempsey's ultracovert antiterror unit, Ember, mobilizes.

But this operation isn't just a retaliatory strike by Ember; it's a mission of vengeance for Dempsey - against the Iranian terrorist mastermind who slaughtered Dempsey's Tier One comrades. Racing from Tel Aviv to Tehran, the elite American warrior and his formidable Israeli counterpart must forsake their backup in a capture-or-kill gambit that could turn into a suicide run.

But with missiles flying across the Middle East, Dempsey's do-or-die quest must succeed. If it doesn't, it's a short countdown to World War III.

Just keeps getting better and better

First, let me say that Ray Porter is one talented reader. His voice switches from one character to the next in an easy flow. His character portrayals are so flawless that as the reader you feel as if you are there in the moment as an observe not only because of his talent but because of the writing of both authors.
This series is engaging, the on going storyline plausible and O think it just may be possible that these characters could actually exist in some form.
The sacrifices that our armed forces service men and women give for our country as well as their families isn't sugar coated. There is loss on both sides and the authors do well to represent that side of the story, too.

Series keeps getting better!

I've just started American Operator, book 4 in the series, so that alone should be an endorsement for Crusader One, the third book in the Tier One Thrillers. The action is nonstop, but the characters are all well-developed and believable. A possible new love interest for John Dempsey is introduced, the brave and determined Elizabeth, as Ember continues to hunt down the world's most fearsome terrorists. I especially like how the authors don't skimp on the development of their antagonists. They are just as well fleshed out as the heroes of the story, so that you're really on the edge of your seat as the opposing forces spiral down to an explosive conclusion.

The Tier One series with Ray Porter is Explosive!

I am a huge fan of the Thriller/Espionage genre with the Tier One series having replaced the Mitch Rapp series as my new favorite. YES, it is that good!

The story line is well written and believable with several twists that keeps you wanting to listen to more. This difference compared to some of the more established series is that the Tier One series is more akin to our current times. Ray Porter does what he does best as one of the best narrators in the business...he brings the story to life with a captivating performance!

Crazy Good

Of the three books in the series, I probably enjoyed this one the most so far. Holy cow. The stuff Dempsey and his crew get up to in this novel is mindblowing. I love the grit, action, and sheer strength of these characters. I love that for all the adventure and violence, these people are given true human emotions and the reader gets to feel the impact of that raw angst as well.

The storyline and characters aren't the only things that are high impact. The narrator gives a stellar performance, assuming several different accents and dialects while also demonstrating a great range of emotions.

If you are into spy reads, action/adventure novels, or enjoy military action with a bit of political intrigue, this series is for you. While each of these stories can be read as a standalone novel, do yourself a favor and start at the beginning of the Tier One Thriller series.

Amazing

From start to finish, this book had me hooked. I never found the storyline to be hard to follow, it kept me on the edge of my seat for what was coming next. Ray Porter is an amazing performer and keeps you tuned in. Overall rating for me is a 10 out of 10.
