About this listen

From the Wall Street Journal best-selling co-author of the Tier One series comes a pause-resisting sci-fi thriller about the ultimate battlefield: the human mind.

Deep in the Afghan mountains, Sergeant Michael Pitcher discovers an object with powers that defy explanation. After interacting with it, he suffers a traumatic seizure and is flown home for evaluation.

Cleared by the doctors, Michael goes home to his relieved wife, Josie. But he’s a changed man. The once-loving husband is now coldly withdrawn. After emptying the couple’s bank account, he disappears into the night.

When a team of scientists connected to Sergeant Pitcher vanishes without a trace, CIA agent Dean Ninemeyer comes to him for insight - only to find that the recovering soldier has also disappeared.

Dean and Josie must now join forces in a desperate race against time, searching for answers in an ever-twisting mystery. What they uncover is a chilling conspiracy that already has the fate of the world in its grip.

You've got to get this book

Now that's a story. I'm always looking for new themes in the story and Brian Andrews has achieved it. This is definitely a book you can enjoy. It's good verses evil or is it evil verses evil or is it good verses good well you find out at the very end of the story. Ray Porter does an excellent job in narrating the story.

The book was really good. I waited for the characters to come together to make sense to how they all wrapped the story up and was very surprised and had to listen to last chapter 3 times to figure out eve. Also I haven't found a better narrated yet as Ray porter.

Slowly built up speed...

...arrived at mediocrity and rested at a sermon. The book was the kind of exercise in misery and hopelessness I hadn't experienced since Bakker's Neuropath. Characters were likable and Ray Porter's narration was it's usual excellence. I'm not looking for a happy ending all of the time, but I was looking for science fiction, not horror with a scolding epilogue.

Interesting plot, well performed

Appealing dystopian story with a plot twist at the end. Author does a nice job connecting the players together. While the male voice performance was great, the falsetto for the women’s voice wasn’t very likeable, but it wasn’t too irritating.

Scary awesome.

I always considered my mind mine. What if it isn't? This question kept me riveted to my headphones.

ohhh the twist!

I love a good twist, and this one you don't see coming! And let's don't lie, I'd listen to Ray Porter read the phone book.
