Publisher's summary

Steve Johnson is living his life's passion watching over the Colorado Mountains as a ranger and wildlife consultant. But his peaceful life is upended when overzealous and insanely beautiful Shannon Braden flits back into his life after returning from a brief trip home to Maryland. He thought his attraction to her was under control - after all, she's only in Colorado temporarily, and he doesn't do casual affairs.

Shannon's return to Colorado has as much to do with the game of cat and mouse she and Steve have been playing as it does the data she's been hired to collect. But despite her efforts to explore the undeniable heat simmering between them, Steve's intent on keeping his distance.

When a ranch abutting the national park goes up for sale, Steve will do whatever it takes to keep it from falling into the wrong hands. And when all his attempts fail, he's left with no alternative but to follow Shannon's guidance into the online world he abhors in order to raise the funds. The more time they spend together, the deeper their attraction becomes, and a game of cat and mouse turns into an unstoppable connection. But when Shannon's assignment comes to an end, will it mean an end to them, too?

Love love love

Melissa foster writes her books so well you get sucked into the story and you don’t want to come out. Following Steve through his reluctance to give into his feelings for Shannon and Shannon’s determination to see where their relationship will lead made me not want to stop listening.

Opposites Attract!

This is the fourth book in The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor Series. Steve and Shannon's second chance to love and opposites attract is sweet, fun, and sexy. Shannon is a lovely woman, very talkative. Steve is handsome, very solitaire. Their chemistry is sizzling. I love the Epilogue. BJ Harrison did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it.

Shannon and Steve

What a fun couple. These two fight the obvious connection because they are both stubborn. They have to find a few things out about themselves and decide if it is worth the trouble before they get their HEA.

The narrator has definitely grown on me. Great listen.

The Griz and The Butterfly

What can I say about Steve & Shannon but...AWE!!! They are the perfect couple!

After reading the book, I listened to the narration by BJ Harrison. While you get the visuals of what the characters are going through, hearing the feelings through Mr. Harrison's take on it really adds to the overall affect of the story. While listening, you can't help but smile at every one of Shannon's excited outbursts, get all tingly when things get hot and heavy, and melt into a puddle when Steve's romantic side comes out. You can't help but cheer Shannon on and want to help her decide what exactly she should do about her future.

Thank You again for another great story and telling.

Melissa's Books Get me EVERY. TIME.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, definitely! All of Melissa's books are a ton of fun, they are hot hot hot, and make you want to live in the world of her characters for just a bit each time.

What about B.J. Harrison’s performance did you like?

B.J. Harrison is a regular staple with Melissa's audio books. He is a fantastic narrator that brings you right into the book. He conveys emotion very well throughout and keeps you hanging on until the very end. Love him!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not one specific moment, but I REALLY just loved the way Steve was so hesitant and resistant toward Shannon, his attraction to her, and her desire to incorporate social media and the GOOD that it could do to help their cause. It was just so endearing, and definitely drew him to me more as a character.

Any additional comments?

LOVED this book! 5 Stars for sure!

Shannon & Steve - Awesome Read

Melissa Foster and BJ Harrison team up to bring you a laugh out loud delightful story. Melissa Foster weaves a story about Colorado Mountain man Steve and Braden cousin Shannon. Shannon has a crush on Steve so takes a research job staying in the cabin next to his. Steve doesn't really think he needs someone in his life and not a girl from a Maryland beach town. But they do share common interests, with a love of nature and the outdoors. BJ Harrison's reading of this awesome story kept me riveted. Another 5 star book!

Grizz's Butterfly

I received an audio ARC of Crushing on Love: Shannon Braden (Love in Bloom: The Bradens of Peaceful Harbor, Book 4) by Melissa Foster in exchange for an honest review.

I love audio books and B.J. Harrison has become one of my favorite narrators because he does an exceptional job. His ability to make you believe you're listening to the characters along with his tone and inflection puts you in the middle of the story!

Can city girl Shannon "Butterfly" Braden from Peaceful Harbor, MD find love with Steve "Grizz" Johnson in the Colorado Mountains?

Wildlife Consultant Steve Johnson is happy in his peaceful life, without technology, without a lot of conveniences, living the life he's passionate about. Although somewhat isolated he doesn't crave constant chatter or company. Enter feisty Shannon Braden.

Sassy Shannon returns to Colorado continuing her research on foxes and becomes Steve's neighbor on the mountain. They had a brief flirtation at his sister's wedding and Steve thought that's all it was, however, he finds Shannon's appeal to be more than he bargained for and he knows she's headed back home when her research is finished and he doesn't do casual affairs.

Despite his good intentions not to get close to Shannon, Steve cannot but help himself from being drawn into her orbit. Shannon for her part wants to explore what might be and is frustrated as Steve runs hot and cold.

Technology challenged Steve ends up needing Shannon's help to prevent a ranch that's for sale from falling into the wrong hands and destroying the natural beauty that means so much to him. As they work together they are drawn even closer until the sheer force of their attraction won't be denied.

There are so many tender, sweet moments: pink shoelaces, yellow hoodie, Pop-Tarts, cupcakes with pink frosting, schmores and of course Happy Packs! Learning to dance in secret and risking humiliation! But the passion was sinfully perfect!

When Shannon's time is up with they part ways? Have a long distance relationship or end things on the mountain?

Easy to get lost in BJ Harrison's voice

I have not read a book of Melissa Foster's that I haven't enjoyed, this book included. Her contemporary romances are always so fresh and inviting and the characters and plots just draw you in. Steve and Shannon are no exception. Steve is drawn to Shannon but yet a little afraid to follow his heart, he's an old fashion simple man wanting to remain on his mountain. Shannon is vibrant and social, but doesn't know what she wants to do with her life. She had the same attraction towards Steve. I love seeing how their relationship grows and their feelings for each other.
I have enjoyed listening to B. J. Harrison narrate, his smooth voice draws you further in to the story.

Sexiest Mountain Man Around

Would you listen to Crushing on Love again? Why?

Yes! I don't know if a sexier mountain man exists then Steve or as Shannon calls him, Grizz! Shannon, Butterfly to Steve, is a researcher who takes a position researching wolves in Colorado near her uncle and Steve, the mountain man that she wants to be more. Steve is a man that not only lives on the mountain, it is who he is but is he willing to change for the city girl that may have stolen his heart? In Crushing for Love read how Shannon and Steve navigate their different lives and find one that might just involve each other. Steve is the ultimate mountain man - he saves wild Hawks, creates detailed maps for Shannon and learns a little about the art of romance and compromise for his Shannon. Shannon is a people person with a love of Pop Tarts and pink boot laces. Together they don't appear to work but in Crushing for Love find out how love crushes all of those obstacles and lands a mountain man chilling on the beaches of Maryland and Butterfly living on a mountain in Colorado. You won't be disappointed by this next entry by Melissa Foster.

Have you listened to any of B.J. Harrison’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The reading of the audiobook is fantastic, B.J. Harrison was made to be the voice of Grizz! As with most audiobooks it took me about a chapter to be able to accurately discern narration versus dialogue but B.J. does a great job of making sure you are able to figure out what is what. I absolutely loved listening to Crushing on Love.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I was unable to do so but I listened to it whenever I was in the car and it definitely made the drives go faster.

Enjoyed this one!

Crushing on Love: Shannon Braden is the fourth book in the Love in Bloom: The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor series. All the books in this series are standalone books, but if you read them in order you learn more about all of the characters. Steve is happy with his life as a Ranger and wildlife consultant. Living in CO is peaceful, just as he likes it. When Shannon returns from a trip home, things start to change, he is no longer fighting their connection as much. So when the walls finally come down, what will he do when she is finished and has to go home permanently? This story was really enjoyable to read and the narrator was enjoyable to listen to. I definitely recommend it.
