About this listen

Steve Johnson is living his life's passion watching over the Colorado Mountains as a ranger and wildlife consultant. But his peaceful life is upended when overzealous and insanely beautiful Shannon Braden flits back into his life after returning from a brief trip home to Maryland. He thought his attraction to her was under control - after all, she's only in Colorado temporarily, and he doesn't do casual affairs.

Shannon's return to Colorado has as much to do with the game of cat and mouse she and Steve have been playing as it does the data she's been hired to collect. But despite her efforts to explore the undeniable heat simmering between them, Steve's intent on keeping his distance.

When a ranch abutting the national park goes up for sale, Steve will do whatever it takes to keep it from falling into the wrong hands. And when all his attempts fail, he's left with no alternative but to follow Shannon's guidance into the online world he abhors in order to raise the funds. The more time they spend together, the deeper their attraction becomes, and a game of cat and mouse turns into an unstoppable connection. But when Shannon's assignment comes to an end, will it mean an end to them, too?

Love love love

Melissa foster writes her books so well you get sucked into the story and you don’t want to come out. Following Steve through his reluctance to give into his feelings for Shannon and Shannon’s determination to see where their relationship will lead made me not want to stop listening.

Opposites Attract!

This is the fourth book in The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor Series. Steve and Shannon's second chance to love and opposites attract is sweet, fun, and sexy. Shannon is a lovely woman, very talkative. Steve is handsome, very solitaire. Their chemistry is sizzling. I love the Epilogue. BJ Harrison did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it.

Shannon and Steve

What a fun couple. These two fight the obvious connection because they are both stubborn. They have to find a few things out about themselves and decide if it is worth the trouble before they get their HEA.

The narrator has definitely grown on me. Great listen.

The Griz and The Butterfly

What can I say about Steve & Shannon but...AWE!!! They are the perfect couple!

After reading the book, I listened to the narration by BJ Harrison. While you get the visuals of what the characters are going through, hearing the feelings through Mr. Harrison's take on it really adds to the overall affect of the story. While listening, you can't help but smile at every one of Shannon's excited outbursts, get all tingly when things get hot and heavy, and melt into a puddle when Steve's romantic side comes out. You can't help but cheer Shannon on and want to help her decide what exactly she should do about her future.

Thank You again for another great story and telling.

Melissa's Books Get me EVERY. TIME.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, definitely! All of Melissa's books are a ton of fun, they are hot hot hot, and make you want to live in the world of her characters for just a bit each time.

What about B.J. Harrison’s performance did you like?

B.J. Harrison is a regular staple with Melissa's audio books. He is a fantastic narrator that brings you right into the book. He conveys emotion very well throughout and keeps you hanging on until the very end. Love him!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not one specific moment, but I REALLY just loved the way Steve was so hesitant and resistant toward Shannon, his attraction to her, and her desire to incorporate social media and the GOOD that it could do to help their cause. It was just so endearing, and definitely drew him to me more as a character.

Any additional comments?

LOVED this book! 5 Stars for sure!

Shannon & Steve - Awesome Read

Melissa Foster and BJ Harrison team up to bring you a laugh out loud delightful story. Melissa Foster weaves a story about Colorado Mountain man Steve and Braden cousin Shannon. Shannon has a crush on Steve so takes a research job staying in the cabin next to his. Steve doesn't really think he needs someone in his life and not a girl from a Maryland beach town. But they do share common interests, with a love of nature and the outdoors. BJ Harrison's reading of this awesome story kept me riveted. Another 5 star book!

Foster has gone to a new level of sexy!

My first impression with Melissa Foster books is sweet. I think B.J. Harrison's voice has a lot to do with that. Then the sexy show up! This book isn't one you're going to want to share with your daughter OR with your mother. Just keep this one to yourself.
That said, I loved the mountain location of this book. I also loved that both Shannon and Steve were into the animals and preservation. I loved that there were so many places in nature that they found for their sexy time. Not sure I'd actually want to try all of them, but for fictional characters, why not?
Shannon and Steve were just so good together! Shannon was still trying to find her place in life and figure out exactly what she wanted to do for work for the rest of her life. Steve was willing to try to help her by offering up suggestions, even if those suggestions were sure to take her out of his life again (as was her current job).
It was refreshing that Steve really wasn't into technology and many of the other things that come with modern day life. Foster's having Shannon embrace that was delightful. Her almost smoking herself to death while trying to start a fire to fix Steve's dinner over an open fire was very touching. His response to thinking she'd set herself on fire was great--no greater moment to realize how much someone means to you than that in which you think you've lost them. It made him face the facts. Now what's he going to do about it?
Very, very enjoyable book. I highly recommend--unless you're the straight up missionary sex type of person.

Crushing on Grizz

If I could choose the perfect voice for Grizz and Shannon BJ Harrison would be it. He has the characters figured out. The feelings and emotions he portrays just using his voices is amazing.

Anyone who has followed my blog knows that I LOVE Melissa Foster and her Love in Bloom Series. This is my second favorite book in the series, my first being Treat Braden’s book ~Lovers at Heart. Steve.. Oh Steve. I wanted to climb that mountain and give him some company, even though he was seemed to be happy being a loner. I knew he needed company, I knew his soul mate was out there, and I was thrilled when Shannon Braden showed up on his mountain. She is exactly what he needed to shake up his life.

Shannon Braden is chatty and outgoing, both things Steve Johnson is not. I knew that when I heard Shannon and Steve were going to be together it was going to be fireworks. Melissa Foster did not disappoint. The sparks flew, the heat was obvious, and there was never a doubt that these two were meant to be. Yet, I really enjoyed their honesty and conversations. They put it all on the table, telling what they were each looking for, and what they were willing to give up. These conversations showed just how true and worthy there were of finding each other and their true loves.

This entire series is full of contemporary romances with amazing characters, wonderful happy ever afters, and hot sex! The characters are realistic and lovable. The settings are always amazing with the stunning mountains, exotic islands, beautiful beaches, and gorgeous ranches. But the best parts of Melissa’s stories are the relationship and friendships. They are the things that readers dream of.

If there is any doubt… CHECK THIS BOOK OUT! Actually check this entire series out. This is truly a series that can be read in any order. The characters make appearances in each other’s books but each book has a beginning and an ending. There are no cliffhangers.

Wicked and Naughty

Melissa penned a sexy ride with this story. B. J. Harrison narration of this exciting and heartfelt story was fantastic.
Shannon Braden had been back home a short time, but she has returned to Colorado to collect more data on grey foxes. Steve Johnson worked as a ranger and wildlife consultant and does not do casual affairs, but Shannon had him tangled up. He was determined to stay away from Shannon, but he is finding it very difficult. She asked him to help her spot some grey fox. His two friends were going to sell the 200 acres of their property and Steve took Shannon to see them. He didn't want it to fall into the wrong hands. She called him Grizz and he called her Butterfly. Would the mountain man catch the butterfly?

Sexy Mountain Man

I was soo excited to read this latest book from Melissa Foster because it brings you back to Weston Colorado and you get to come back to some of the original Bradens.

Steve is ruggedly handsome and Shannon is a Braden so of course she is beautiful. Steve likes his life on the mountain and does not come down to the real world that much. Shannon likes he life in Peaceful Harbor and enjoys being around people. They are both different in that regard but love being wrapped up in each other.

What I liked most was Steve does not have millions in his bank account and there is no mention of Shannon having a trust fund either. Steve has to work hard for what he wants with the help of Shannon and others. BJ Harrison is the narrator and he does a great job once again. He makes you feel like you are right in the middle of the story and makes the story flow when listening to it. He helps you feel the story.
