amazing. stunning new author. the rhetoric flows

Excellent blended world. what am accomplishment. most importantly i was happy to give that largest of requirements in order to buy into fiction- the willing suspension of disbelief. Does not hurt to have the best narrator in the business-Simon Vance.

This makes me a sad lad

This book was great in the beginning but as the story went on I started to REALLY hate Lin. I have no idea how her personality changed so fast not to mention she becomes a swords woman on par with jack in like 5 months, how? It makes no sense and makes the training all the other black dogs did for YEARS seem pointless.

On top of that Lin turns into an unlikable "bad ass" with no sympathy or empathy, I am dumbfounded as to why the author changed her personality so much so quickly and I am not sure he knows why either. Also the romance that is constantly thought about but never acted on is insanely annoying and tedious it makes me hate both Jack and Lin.

I think this is the last book in this series for me but maybe I will think about getting the next one if it ever comes out. I doubt it though because it really feels like jack was ignored in terms of character development in this book and Lin just turned into an entirely different character altogether, the action was cool though.
