About this listen

In Cry, the Beloved Country, a Zulu pastor travels in search of his son throughout a troubled and dangerous South Africa in the early 1940s.

Compassionate, empathetic, and deeply moving, this tale of love and concern captures the imagination and brings to life the cost of conviction and the price of sacrifice.

struggled understanding the narration. I wish I would have chosen another book to write a report on, wasted my credit

The reader has a great voice but many MANY important quotes that are central to the story are cut out! This story is supposed to be about the injustices in South Africa and they've edited out most of the harshest critiques. Shame!!

Horrible!

I've loved this story and heard it on audible from other narrators. unfortunately, right off the bat, I notice this narrator skipped an entire page (I wanted to follow along in my paperback). terrible faux pas.

great book, disappointing audio
