Loved it!

The author does a great job building the characters so you relate to their thoughts and emotions.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The story is steady, believable and consistent.

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked lots of scenes in this story, I don't think I can choose just one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I hadn't planned to listen to it all at once but it ended up that way. It is one of those books you can't put down.

A fun mystery

Would you listen to Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter again? Why?

yes. This is a really cute, light mystery and there are dogs and cats in it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter?

the ways she relates to dogs and cats.

Which character – as performed by Julia Gibson – was your favorite?

Dixie, but I enjoyed Michael and Paco, too.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but I couldn't. As soon as I walked back into the house, I turned it on and I even took it on the walk Dolly (my dog) and I took. It was a great book to knit to.

Any additional comments?

I see there is only one more of this series on Audible but Amazon has several and one new one is due out in July 2013. I sure hope Audible decides to record these. On to the next one.

A fun book.

My niece introduced me to this witty tongue-in-cheek mystery series. Will appeal to animal lovers.

Light but interesting, well written, entertaining

I am so glad to have found another series that is just what I look for when listening to books. Entertainment with some mystery but not gruesome and always a bit of humour without being silly. I am looking forward to the next books.

MY 'CUROSITY' JUST GETTING STARTED! GREAT BOOK!

This is my first Dixie Hemingway Mystery but it will not be my last! Since I live in Sarasota where the action takes place I felt right at home in the middle of all the scenes. Julia Gibson gave a great performance. Was a good mystery, written with good comical plot yet touches a lot of serious emotional avenues to cruise down with a great twist at the end. Loved Dixie's relationship with her animal characters and her devotion to seeing that they were well taken care of. All the characters were nicely fleshed out. I highly recommend this book and will let you know what I think of the next one. I have high hopes for this author. You go Blaize Clement!

A Fun Trip Back

Where does Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Hard to say but a really pleasant read.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the years I lived in Sarasota! This was like a trip down memory lane for me. I loved following along the roads I knew so well. I had a Siamese cat from Nokomis who had kittens, one of whom was named Ghost by my friend in Tampa who adopted her, so I found it funny there was a cat with the same name.

What about Julia Gibson’s performance did you like?

Great voice for the characters. Can't imagine anyone doing it better.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Crime wave in Sarasota, Florida!!
Seriously, one book has more crime than the average year in Sarasota, Siesta Key hardly had enough going on to make the Herald.

Any additional comments?

Why isn't the whole series in audible format? It should be. I'm having to download the rest to Kindle and actually wear out my eyes reading.

I enjoyed it but why . . . . the pauses?

If you could sum up Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter in three words, what would they be?

cute concept mystery

What did you like best about this story?

The way that just trying to look after her charges kept getting her further into the mess.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Julia Gibson?

Not sure -- she really had some crazy pauses, sometimes so long I thought the chapter was over, and she was still midsentence! Some of it must be the editing standards of the production company, but some of it is the narrator.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

well, her reflection on understanding a friend because of the senselessness of sudden loss...

Any additional comments?

I found the narration distracting on this one, both in general style (inflection choices, etc.) and especially in terms of the odd pacing/editing. But the book was a fun diversion.

Nice cozy mystery for animal lovers

Where does Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Although the mystery was a little predictable the story was good and the it was an easy enjoyable read. Especially enjoyed the way the animals were worked into the development of the story and the discussions of the animals.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not in one sitting as I listen to books during my 1.5 hr/day commute. However, as I neared the end, the book was interesting enough, I chose to continue listening once I reached home to find out the resolution of the mystery.

Any additional comments?

The narrator was good on the main character and most of the women but I felt her men were somewhat lacking. While this was mildly annoying, it didn't detract from the story.
