About this listen

Spend an afternoon antiquing, and it’s not hard to figure out why picking has become one of America’s fondest pastimes. It’s treasure hunting while connecting with history. But what if those treasures hunt us back?

From old books, vinyl records, antique mirrors, vintage figurines, and a Bob’s big boy piggy bank, curses have no limits.

Featuring stories from D.J. Butler, Joy Auburn, Martin L. Shoemaker, Jessica Guernsey, John D. Payne, Jen Bair, Karen Pellett, Steve Ruskin, Tanya Hales, Lauren Lang, Frank Morin, Mike Jack Stoumbous, Kelly Lynn Colby, Jace Killan, Jo Schneider, Gama Ray Martinez, Martin Greening, Chris Abela, A.J. Mayall, Heidi A. Wilde, Shannon Fox, Lauryn Christopher, and Mark Leslie.

The stories are actually good - the female narrator is better and reads better than the male narrator. Unfortunately before you can get into a story, the male narrator will slip up, mispronounce a word or fumble a sentence. The most error ridden storytelling is “More Than You Bargained For”.

I wish they chose a different male narrator instead.

Male Narration is Erratic, Mistake Filled and Shoddy

I tend to judge my audiobooks on how well they make me run on the treadmill. Each of these short stories was engaging, fun to listen to, and short enough to make treadmill warm ups go by quickly.

"Judge Not" was a personal favorite because... well... I don't want to give it away. Let's just say if it was any longer I would have PR'd my mile time.

There is some language in some of the stories, but not enough to make them inappropriate for kids around 13. In fact, my son (age 14) who loves horror films and scary stories stuck around to listen to several with me.

Great short stories for treadmill runs
