Exceptionally well written, portrayal of D-Day

The author took us back and forth between these two micro and macro viewpoints, without staying too long, and getting bogged down on either one. He's a very good, very legible antique writer. I would recommend this to people who want a systematic telling of this battle. If you're looking for more of a synopsis, this might be too much book for you. For me it was perfect!

A compelling read for all.

A gathering of historical narrate and direct comment from many interviews. Those direct explanations made it very personal and all the more convincing.
The author doesn't pull any punches on the mistakes in planning and execution by all those intricate. A great read and I wish I had the luxury of being able to read it in one sitting.

The author is great.......

The most inclusive history on the topic. A great read; full of intrepidness and self-effacement. Really rousing.
The author has an ability for telling you the stories that make up History. Not just the History. He makes history more thrilling by putting it in setting and illumination not just the basics but he gets into the stories of the men.

A historical day in the history.

This is my first book and I am proud of it. The author provided a brief history of the day with examples and the narrator did a fabulous job as well.
