Typical Stone Barrington ...

Would you try another book from Stuart Woods and/or Tony Roberts?

Have loved and listend to many (if not all) of the Woods / Roberts team.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

That Stone was back to being Stone after the Son of Stone diversion, which I did like.

Have you listened to any of Tony Roberts???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Equal ... Tony is very consistent.

Was D.C. Dead worth the listening time?

At less than10 hours, yes.

Any additional comments?

Was glad to see Stuart Woods back to the Stone of old, however this iteration did seem to drag a bit. Bringing Holly Barker and Teddy Faye back in for a parallel plot served only to continue the viability of their characters beyond DC Dead for possible (indeed probable) future inclusion into the Stone Barrington storyline.

Excellent Read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Stone Barrington et al provide the expected humor, plot twists and suspense that we expect from this Stuart Woods series.

What did you like best about this story?

The story line began on the same day that Son of Stone ended! Surprised me but is cool!

What does Tony Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

His voice is so versatile!

Getting a little hard to believe

I have been reading all of Stuart Woods' books for year and the last two seem very thin and hard to believe. Nothing close to the real world.

He had all of his characters in this one, the President, Will Lee and his wife, the CIA director, Holly Barker, Teddy Fay and still, not very exciting and not at all believable,

Spoiler alert! The guy was investigating murders and slept with all of the suspects. Except for one and Dino slept with her. The character is a pig, And supposedly Holly Barker didn't care. Really?

Go back and read some of the earlier books with Will Lee. There was a lot more going on.

I have to say, the highlight was Tony Roberts.

The Stone Barrington Series Seems Back on Track

The last few Stone Barrington novels have been interesting because they dealt with family, friends and financial wheeling and dealing. They were not horrible but I missed the good old days of Stone and Dino working together to catch the bad guys.

DC Dead is a great book with all the things that originally drew me to the Stone novels. Stone and Dino are whisked off to DC in order to investigate what may be a suicide but could also be a murder. As the book progresses and the murders pile up we go on a ride that is half murder mystery and half excellent recipes for perfect cocktails.

While I will not mention it here, there is a whole other plot line involving Holly Barker that did not quite seem to make sense so I am assuming it will lead in to the next Stone novel. Hopefully this distraction was not to just fill pages.

If you like the Stone Barrington novels, you will really enjoy this one. As always, Tony Roberts done a fantastic job with all the voices throughout. If they ever change Tony out, I might lose interest, he is that good.

My assessment.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was reasonably entertaining, but Woods overdoes Stone's sexual exploits.

Would you recommend D.C. Dead to your friends? Why or why not?

I'd recommend it because it's a reasonably good story and doesn't take a lot of concentration to stay with it.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Tony Roberts does an excellent job. Great narration.

Was D.C. Dead worth the listening time?

It was worth the listening time, particularly since I listened to most of it while driving on Interstate 80.

our Intrepid heroes are back on the sleuth...!!!

the boys are back in Hot Pursuit. Dino is as licentious a stone. another rolling Woods Corkscrew plot runs headlong into a character Laden ending all tied up neatly with a bow. I love these two knuckleheads. still not at all happy with Roberts readings.

Another wild trip for Stone and Dino

Another exciting book. Stone and Dino can always seem to get themselves into some kind of trouble.
