Publisher's summary

Everything to lose.

Tyler’s worked hard to kick the dust of the Chicago suburbs off his heels and move on with his life as Hollywood’s newest up-and-comer, burying his demons and hiding his scars from the world. Just as everything seems to be going his way, a scandal from his past threatens everything he’s worked for. Now, he’s stuck back home, where his family of lawyers can maybe help sink the scandal and find out who’s behind it.

Afraid to love.

Josh doesn’t know what to think when his ex’s little brother falls into his arms, other than that Tyler is trouble with a capital T. But when Tyler’s publicist suggests that an adoring fake boyfriend might be just the ticket to saving Tyler’s acting career, Josh doesn’t mind playing along. It’s not like he has anything else going on, and faking a relationship with someone you’ve known your entire life can’t possibly be that difficult.

A second chance for two damaged hearts.

Now, they’re stuck together for the foreseeable future, and neither can deny their mounting attraction. Why should they? They’re supposed to be in love, at least out in public. But in private, when no one is watching, Tyler and Josh grow closer in a way that has nothing to do with their agreed upon arrangement. What do they do when make-believe becomes real, and how can two men with such different lives have a shared future?

Damage Control is a steamy, stand-alone gay romance with no cliffhanger and an HEA.

Great Listen

I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review. Wow it was a great story but it was way too long glad I didn't have to actually read it I don't think I would have finished it but being able to listen to it while at work, on the way home & doing housework I was able to finish the entire book.

This story is my 1st from this author was about Tyler and Josh. Both men have pasts that have left scars on them, some more literal than others. The supporting characters in this book all played significant roles.

Loved It!

Damage Control is a must read. Lynn Van Dorn has written a beautiful book with flawed, damaged characters. My favorite kind!

Tyler and Josh will pull you into their story from the beginning and won't let go until the end.

I loved the secondary characters as well. This is a well written book that I would highly recommend. Michael Ferraiuolo does an amazing job of bringing these characters to life!

Way too long and sometimes boring

I thought I give this book a second chance, because Michael Ferraiuolo is the narrator and duh! - it's the best thing that could happen to this book. But sadly I couldn't like it for the second time either.

Last year when I read the ebook, I gave it 4 star. It wasn't bad, but wasn't perfect either. But now with the audiobook - OMG I can't believe I finished it! I wanted to stop it and listen to other audiobooks, because if you haven'r realised it's nearly 19 hours! 19 hours of audio! But one thing motivated, clearly just that I need to finish it because then I can say I listened to an audiobook that lasted 19 hours.

The story was too long and boring. The sex scenes weren't hot for me, and I just coulnd't fall in love with nothing with this book. Not with the voices and not with the characters. This book is just too long.

I don't know why, but if the book is written by only Lynn Van Dorn, I coulnd't enjoy it as much as I want to. But if she writes with someone else (like with Piper Scott) then I coulnd't put the book down.

Ohmygod !

There isn’t a single thing about this book that isn’t wonderful ! Wow! I laughed and cried . There’s lots of drama and horrible things that are revisited but the author handled it so perfectly that you aren’t ripping your heart out or clenching your teeth . The angst is real but not overdone. I love how the MC’s self reflect in a way that’s realistic and not “instafix” like a lot of the novels in the genre tend to be (not a criticism just an observation) I also want to note how often times in books that have high impact events .. the sexy times tend to be over the top too. Like a person has to be crazed with lust and perform acts that are so unrealistic - but in this book the sexy tome are steamy AND sweet , mature AND fun.
Love love love love love
And THEN you add Michael to narrate .*air kiss* perfect ! The only other book I wanted to listen to again as soon as I finished it was HIm - now I have two “repeats” . Loved it.

I Loved it so Much

Loved this book, I listened to the entire 18 hours in 3 days and was sad when the story ended, I am so attached to the characters. I loved both Josh and Tyler they are beautiful and damaged and make a great couple. The ups and downs, the struggles and obstacles they went through kept me on the edge of my seat. Story was so engaging and captivating that I didn't notice how long it was, I just wanted it to never end. Narrator was perfect, his voice for every character appearing in the book is spot on, he performed this story and made this audiobook even better with his amazing narration. I highly recommend this audiobook for romance lovers who can handle the angst and mention of past abuse. Looking forward to more books by this author/narrator team.

Should have a FEW trigger warnings

OCD, abuse, sexual assault, cutting, gasslighting and violence all are talked about AND happen in this story. Do not undertake this book lightly. Usually, a book this heavy either feels hollow or like glorification of abuse. Neither happened here. Even though a LOT of messed up shit happens, it is all handled with the proper weight and effect. Such a great book. Michael is perfection as usual - Lynn delivers a book I could NOT put down and characters I fell in love with.

rough roads

Tyler has had a difficult path and Josh has felt heartbreak but family/neighborly bonds help in difficulty. The end result is a well written book with some tough topics that are dealt with in a satisfactory manner.

Good story. Good narration.

This story has quite a few lessons to teach the characters and the reader. Plenty of potential triggers too, so read with caution. There are also quite a few sex scenes.

I enjoyed the book, and I liked getting to know the characters. I was angry for some of the characters for a large portion of the book. I'm still not over it. The core of this story is resolved, but some of the conflict still bothers me. This is a series so maybe there are hints of more resolution in later books.

Worth the read/listen, but I would recommend reading this book if you are looking for a story to with serious angst and family conflict.

An Epic Story With A Soul Touching Narration

Damage Control is one of those stories that evokes and provokes so many emotions . Torn, unsettled, happy, horny , sad , drained , hopeful, angry , excited and everything else in between.

And with his articulate, personable , enthusiastic , well paced and natural narration style Michael Ferraiulo intensified those feelings.

For 18 hours and 58 minutes , he embodied and brought Josh and Tyler to life. He created believable and unforgettable voices that matched the ones in my mind.

Damage Control tells the story of Tyler and Josh. Tyler is 25 years old , up and coming movie star . His acerbic wit , in your face attitude , sassy and fabulous persona hides a vulnerable damaged soul. One that carries a lot of emotional baggage, trauma and heartache from a young age. Josh is 31 years old , sweet , uptight , loveable , dermatologist , family friend , brother in law and Tyler's older brother Ryan, first lover and best friend.

A series of unrelated , or so it seems, events and circumstance brings these two together . Can Josh move on , take a chance , forget Ryan? Find love with Tyler? Be free and happy for the first time in his life ? And can Tyler demons let Josh in? Can he stop his self destructive coping mechanisms? Can live fully and happy with Josh?

Lynn Van Dorn's Damage Control is an Epic , thought provoking , angst , drama filled , hot AF sexy and highly entertaing story. She draws you in and capture your attention and makes you care deeply for her heroes and villains .

I enjoyed listening to this amazing audiobook. I highly recommended.
