About this listen

The conclusion to the fan favorite series from Lynette Eason.

After making a new life for herself and her infant daughter in Rose Mountain, widow Maggie Bennett thought they were safe. Getting caught in the middle of a bank robbery changes everything - and introduces her to policeman Reese Kirkpatrick. He seems to be everything her abusive late husband wasn't...just the man she needs to help her through the growing list of sinister occurrences. But Reese has his own baggage - and when a shocking betrayal puts Maggie at risk, Reese must decide if protecting his heart is worth losing a chance at love.

Good stort

This was a good story and I like recurring characters coming in from prior books. Good suspense without an immediate devastation but kept mystery and interest moving forward

another win for Eason

This was a great book to listen to as I did my taxes. I had to stop at the gunfights and figure out who was shooting at who. Good performance by narrator.

Second chance at love

Really enjoyed this story; kind of guessed the antagonist/family, but my suspicions being confirmed was great.
The only two things that stuck out to me was where the narrator saying his, when in fact the person in question was a baby girl.
The other thing I noticed was in a bathroom scene: the hero is sitting on the edge of the heroine’s tub, yet had lower his head to kiss her.

suggestion

I loved it. but I wish you would do a wedding or something at the end. just to give a little more excitement. I dont think I have listened to any of your books that end in a wedding.

Best of the series

Danger on the Mountain was better than the rest of the books in the series because the villain was not easily discernible. The biggest clue was in the reader’s intonation of the character’s voice. I didn’t like the other books in the series because the reader / listener knows so much more than the characters, and the books become tedious. This one revealed information little by little throughout the story which helps the plot advance without being tiresome.

I didn’t like that the action of the story was only resolved within the last 7 minutes of the book. I did like the main characters. They weren’t too angsty and acted like adults with problems that they were working on.
