please teach the narrator how to speak....

Why do they allow her to mispronounce so many important words??? 🤔 Not to mention she makes everyone sound same and puts no real emotion behind it... Alotof sex again that I sadly skipped over because I'm over it. Richard is crying Anita is whiny and bitchy and I feel needs to get over herself sometimes. idk where her character is going but with the narrator n story line it's to whinyville

incomplete "Danse"

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. it was hooked as usual! But, I felt like the end happened to suddenly. without giving anything away, it seemed as though the author got distracted and couldn't finish her vision fully. with all that said, it's definitely still a great Anita Blake novel.

Not Kimberly Alexis

Ok, there were several times when I literally wanted to stop listening, but I have been waiting for the audio version of the missing books for forever and so I tried to ignore (not easy at all) the fact that the new girl is no where near as good as Kimberly. Jean Claude is French and there’s no accent or anything and I can’t tell if I liked it more or less how she makes Anita sound.. more girly? Anita always sounds like a hard ass, and she sounds way different in these audio. I’m honestly most upset about Jean Claude, I love the way Kimberly does his accent and everytime Cynthia did his voice, I was like “Come on, noooo!” The story itself was really good, but I couldn’t enjoy it as much with the new girl.

Absolutely terrible accents

The story is typical Anita Blake. lots of sex and metaphysics. But the reader has the worst accents. especially the English. totally distracting from the story how awful she is.

Bring back Kimberly Alexis.!!!

I feel that the books are lacking since Cynthia Holloway started narrating. Please bring back Kimberly Alexis and also the rest of the Anita Blake series. It only goes up to Harlequin

Great story

Story is Wonderful. Prefer narration by Kimberly Alexis. Not crazy about Cynthia Holloway for these particular books.

Ardeur Flares

Please note that the sex level increases if you’re squeamish about it.
**Spoilers** Anita deals with a pregnancy scare that brings her issues with Richard to the forefront. She also has several challenges from other Masters of the City who want to take advantage of her Ardeur. Jean-Claude helps Anita fend off and feed from Augustine and his people. They have their first major power feed and, when shared, up the power levels of their own people.
They also fend off an attack from Merlin and his all vampire dance troop, followed by the Mother of Darkness. Asher jumps to a new power level with near tragic results.
Anita finds out that the strains of lycanthropy she carries are wolf, leopard, lion, and a mystery.

Decent narration, but not the best in the series.
I love this series and I’m impressed with Hamilton’s ability to write the progression of Anita’s growing power and the changes in her world.

Not bad, not the best.

I did enjoy this book.

I think Cynthia Holloway did an excellent job.

The pacing is slow. And the story is missing something. It feels a bit empty. It feels like it should be a short story rather than a full novel. Like maybe a bunch of side stories that never made it into other novels got put into this one as the whole plot.

Bring Kimberly Alexis back!!

I love the Anita Blake series, but it's just not the same without Kimberly Alexis' voice. The way Ms. Holloway narrates made it very hard for me to enjoy this book.
