"We will take them down one by one, Max."

When only ten a child is molested.
The adult has trust issues. Girls were treated like trash, went on TV, the rapists were imprisoned briefly, then she was waiting and her anger and fangs came out. Tested, injected and tortured. Changing society, sexual involvement, A.I.s and computer games. medical upgrades and animal defense mechanisms, supernatural secrets, madness, surgery and bones buried behind her home.
- All and much more told confusingly in quick snappy sentences.

To be honest, I don't really have a clue what was happening, other than it being a first person monologue com inside someone's consciousness. Perhaps it made more sense if read on the printed page. I struggled to stay with the reading by John Campagna. His deep, founded voice was pleasant to hear but the delivery was too slow, wooden and jerky to provide any life to the writing. Or perhaps this was deliberate? No idea.

At only two and one half hours in length, approximately, I made it to the end feeling slightly dirtier by the experience and glad it was over. I must, however, thank the rights holder of Dark Angel for freely gifting me with a complimentary copy at my request. I've read and enjoyed others by the author, but not this one.

Not the same as other books

This is not as good as other books by the same author which I love. Narration was without enthusiasm and very odd having a male voice representing a female in the book

You have to like it

If it wasn't for the narrator I would have considered a higher rating. He just doesn't deliver it with enthusiasm and thus comes across almost monotone and dry.
