Ruin

I wanted him. He wanted to ruin me.

It was the blood I noticed first, running down the neck of the man on the ferry. I had no idea he was being imprisoned on the remote, dark Scottish island I knew well. Or that he'd been kidnapped, not arrested.

I went from that naïve girl on the boat, dreaming of stolen kisses, to the one who held the key to his prison cell.

When heat turns to hate, all that's left is ruin. Sin

He was dangerous, but the real sin was mine.

Sinclair was my secret obsession. The one I dreamed of in a homelife filled with violence and pain. He asked me to leave with him. But my mother is pregnant, and I won't let another child be raised in that house of horrors. The only way to free her is to betray the man I want.

Love is impossible when my only option is to sin.

Scar

A scar tore his face. Mine would carve his heart. I'd do anything to save my missing sister, even sell my body to the highest bidder. Sweet, scarred Camden rescued me, but he won't let me walk away. Especially when I discover he's my buyer's son. Loving him will only leave me with scars.

Burn

I'd wreck his life. For mine, he'd burn down the world.

Jamieson was my penpal. My surf-crazy, impulsive, pyro boy, and the secret I kept from the world. Until he broke us up before we ever met. When I discover he's been imprisoned, saving him becomes my only goal. He was fire and water. With him, I'd either drown or burn.

Held My Interest

I am enjoying the series, which is my first read from this author. Hard to stop listening and narration made me search for books by the same voices.

Fire

Jo always delivers. These books are somehow sexy, dark, and fun. These boys are on a hard fought journey to find the truth of their origins. They steal, fight, and learn to love along the way. There are multiple sexy scenes in each book. And some that really stand out visually in my mind. You get to meet some older characters from previous books which makes them even more fun. I can't wait to get my hands on anything else Jolie writes. Amazing. Highly recommend.

What a Ride!!!

Ruined!

Agggh! Such an intense start to this series! We meet the men of Dark Island Scots in Ruin. This is the story of Struan and Thea. We first get a glimpse of Struan in Betrayed (Wild Mountain Scots) but we learn his story now and watch his new story unfold. This was better than a great start and I’m dying for the next book!

Sin

UGH!!! That ending! How could you leave us like that!!! I’m seriously counting down to the next book!

Ok ok! I’m ok now! On to the review…

Wow so many questions were answered in this book but there are so many new questions! I loved watching the story between Lottie and Sin unfold. They had so much to work through. Additionally we saw the family as a whole continue on their journey and grow closer. And boy did we learn more about their parents! That’s all I can say without spoiling anything.

Scar

I don’t even know where to start on this. This is book 3 of the Dark Island Scots and if you haven’t read the first two READ THEM NOW.

Book 2 left me dying for more… well book 4 beat that and I need answers. This book is about Scar and Breeze and their quest to find their siblings. During this a relationship builds and becomes stronger between the two of them. So much happens… there’s new love and ummm … eeer some kink discovered. While this is Breeze & Scars book we do see and hear from Scars family and we get McRae and Fitzroy cameos.

I loved this book and can’t wait for Burns book.

Burn

Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2023
Oh man! How did you get me to not hate McInver as much… (seriously)

What a rollercoaster this was! This was the story of Burn and Summer and the conclusion of the Dark Island Scots series. Things started off rough… Burn was in jail, Summer was being held captive, Cassie was still in foster care, Scar and Breeze thought Summer was gone, Sin, Struan, Lottie & Thea were working to reunite everyone and McInver had woken up.

I wasn’t sure how this was going to unravel as those who we’re against them were uping their game and threats… But Jolie unwrapped it expertly with surprise assist…..

Fabulous complete series! Narration was excellent! The narrators really brought life to these characters.

It was fabulous! I’m only sad it’s over!

Great stories. Great author, narrators were the best. Laughed, cried, had a hard time not listening for hours straight.

Amazing audio listen!

Ruin is Book 1 of the Dark Island Scots.
Prepare for adventure into a new world as you watch Straun get tossed into an island labeled as a troubled youth. He comes across Thea who is immediately intrigued. Forced to investigate his new found prison-mates, listen as Straun uncovered more than you could imagine.

Sin is Book 2 of the Dark Island Scots.
Lottie is Thea’s island friend from book one and you will love her story! Sinclair is the big boy leader of the group. At first we have a love/hate/enemies to lovers that morphs to a spicy hot coupling with a breeding k*nk. The secrets and intrigue from book one continues and gets so much more exciting.

Scar is Book 3 of the Dark Island Scots. Sweet sweet Camden. He’s always thinking about those around him. The plot thickens in this book and one of the group finds himself missing. Common threads are unwound and the group collects more members. Camden experiments with tying up more than his shoes 🔥. Camden and Breeze are perfection and they are so good together.

Burn is Book 4 of the Dark Island Scots. This book gives us so many answers for the ongoing mystery. We finally know so many things we’ve been wondering all along! Jamieson is a fire bug who fits right in with the group until it’s time for action 🔥. It’s another small world moment for Jamieson and Summer. Summer is also able to have her own reunion with someone we know! Like the other books he has his own 🌶️proclivities and the boys all bond over their preferences, confirming that they are still good people.
In Burn we also get a glimpse of Arran as a teen, which is a fun little drop in.

This series was amazing, and the audio book series knocks it out of the park. The voice work is so good and you could tell when the characters swapped. I had read this series previously, but listening on audio takes it to another level. When you have the audio bundle you are able to get immersed and get all of your answers at one time! 5⭐️ a must listen!

DIS 💙💚💜🧡

I just fell in love with Zara Hampton-Brown! Her narration was incredible for the whole series. 4 female leads, she had all of them different & amazing.

This is the best way to do this series. Fully connected, needs to be binged. Ruin, Sin, Scar, and Burn are all great but you'll be hooked after 1 anyway so just get them all. From being kidnapped to being hunted and framed, to taking down the bad guys, this series grips & thrills from minute one.

Spicy AND Heartfelt!

Ruin started out a bit slow at first for me, but quickly grew on me as I couldn’t get to the next page fast enough. All four of the brothers hold a special place in my heart, along with their partners. Such cruel and heart breaking pasts shaped them in to the fiercely protective and loyal men they are now. I especially love how Jolie intertwined all 5 siblings and their partners (excluding Cassie), almost as if they were always meant to be fated to one another. There was so much more packed in to these stories than I originally expected, and Jolie did not fail to leave me shocked several times throughout this series. The spice was packed in there and was equally as intense as the rest of the storyline, and did not disappoint.

Dark and Steamy

So Ruin was my first Jolie Vines book when it first came out and I fell head over heels in love with her writing. I devour everything by her, and the audiobooks are always so amazing. I love love love how the narrators bring the characters to life, and the DIS series is no different. You can’t go wrong with listening to a Jolie Vines book because the story line will always be incredible and the narrators will make your panties melt!

wasted my money

the voice inconsistency was horrid. female doing lead male voice grossly during her chapter and male doing female voices which sounded like a man doing it was creepy. the story line touching on men wanting to rape kids could have been omited and was poor taste. couldn't get thru first book. so dissapointed. glad I got the group for a credit not buying them individually.
