About this listen

The second novel in the gripping supernatural thriller series from international bestselling author Jodi Taylor.

Betrayed, terrified and alone, Elizabeth Cage has fled her home. With no plan and no friends, she arrives at the picturesque village of Greyston and finds herself involved in an ages-old ceremony that will end in death.

And that might be the least of her problems - the Sorensen Institute would very much like to know her whereabouts. And Michael Jones is still out there, somewhere, she hopes. No matter how far and how fast she can run, trouble will always find Elizabeth Cage.

Trouble seems to follow Elizabeth Cage. She is not sure of her”powers”, she knows she can read people (mood, intent, truth or falsehood) by their colors. She also finds herself in situations that normal persons would not. This has caused interest by unsavory sorts. Now she is on the run not knowing who to trust. She finds herself in an old village ruled by standing stones and old rituals. Can she free herself from the plans the town women have for her. Will her nemesis from the Sorensen Institute find her? What about the dark power that overtook her in the past. A page turner. The narrator continues to add to the story.

Love this series

This book left me wanting more. The characters are great and wide spread, you just don’t know what could possibly happen next. (Is there aliens in the future) lol

Love this one

I love this series by Jodi Taylor. I also love St
Mary's, thThe Time Police, Frogmorton Farm and the Bachelor Establishment. But at least for today, this is my favorite of her series and I hope she writes as prolifically about Elizabeth Cage as she does about Max's universe. Rushford is quite the busy place.

maybe my favorite Taylor series

Besides loving Zara Ramm’s lovely voice, the story was captivating and woven with old magic and things unknown. I loved it!

Exciting and magical!

St Marys is my all time favorite series but Dark Light is catching up. I guess I just haven't caught onto a favorite character yet! Please keep all these books coming!

Jodi Taylor plus Zara Ramm will never disappoint. Jodi has a unique way of spinning her tales that hook me every time. She could probably write out her grocery list in such a way as to have me hanging on every word. No doubt I would be as familiar with her shop as I am my own.

Zara doesn’t simply narrate, she PERFORMS. She brings the characters to life.

The DYNAMIC DUO!!!

So far I am into the Eliza Cage storyline. I should just talk about the book but mostly I worry for the story. I want Ted‘s memory to stay pure. I want Jones to be more than just the dashing savior or rescuer or maybe it’s just a metaphor for relationships. Book is whimsical and fun, the narrator is Zara Ramm who also reads St. Mary’s Chronicles is a solid reader.
