About this listen

Goldy Schulz has a lucrative new gig, preparing breakfasts and conference-room snacks for a local law firm. It's time-consuming, but Goldy is enjoying it, until the night she arrives to find Dusty, the firm's paralegal, dead.

The poor young woman also happened to be Goldy's friend and neighbor, and now Dusty's grieving mother begs Goldy to find out who murdered her daughter. Just because the police are on the case doesn't mean Goldy can't do a little snooping herself.

While catering a party at the home of one of the firm's lawyers, she manages to overhear an incriminating conversation and ends up discovering a few clues in the kitchen.

Before long, Goldy is knee-deep in suspects, one of whom is incredibly dangerous and very liable to cook Goldy's goose.

Dark Tort

I enjoy Diane Mott Davidson's books and have listened to and/or read almost all of her books. WARNING: Be sure to purchase the unabridged version narrated by Barbara Rosenblatt. This abridgment is poorly done as is the narration of this version.

Slow and boring

I'm going to give up on the series. The one before this was terrible and now this one. Why would the police let someone's wife solve crimes for them. Why does Goldie keep getting hurt and then going right back to work. These things just don't make sense. I feel cheated that we didn't get to learn about her sons introduction to his half brother. All we know about Arch is that he is awful ...who wants to here about sassy teenagers

Meh

Maybe it was because this was my first audio version of the "Goldie Bear" series, maybe because the 'mystery?' was predictably boring, or that the characters lacked, we'll, character, or possibly that even the narrator gave me the impression she wasn't very interested. Either way, I wouldn't recommend this book.
