Publisher's summary

A dark and stormy knight.... No really. It was storming... and rather dark in the Tower of London. An unexpected trip to London was supposed to be the perfect distraction from Anna's stress-filled life. Minding her own business, drooling over so many jewels, Anna Waters winds up hopelessly lost and finds herself locked in the infamous tower.

Who knew an antique locket would lead her to a knight with a heart buried underneath 30 feet of stone?

Searching for a way out, she stumbles over an antique locket with half the picture missing. Lightning strikes, and when Anna wakes, she's still in the tower... 700 years in the past.

She crossed an ocean of time for him. Can she save them both before it's too late?

John Thornton almost lost his head and saw his family ruined all because of a woman. Presumed dead, he became the infamous bandit of the wood. Captured and awaiting execution in the Tower of London, a strange woman appears out of the darkness. As they flee across England, John finds himself chipping away at the stone surrounding his heart and longing for a life with his mysterious rescuer - no matter the cost.

Voice

I don’t care for the interpretation of the male voices. They don’t come across strong and confident.

great.....except for narrator

Narrator makes British accent sound like simpering nasal whiner with speech impediment.......sad. almost refunded book because it's so bad.

Great story

wished there was more of the Meriwether sisters interactions in the story. Ms.Luhrs is rapidly becoming one of my favorites.

John's tempestuous life

Another exciting, unexpected, time travel romance by Cynthia Luhrs. I'd say reading this trilogy just after reading The Merriweather Sisters trilogy would be most helpful. Not completely necessary, but it's rather a continuation of some of those key characters. I love the audio rendition and feel Kristina Blackstone did a marvelous job breathing life into wonderful characters. 5 Stars for the author and the narrator! I have sincerely enjoyed all of Cynthia Luhrs books and audio books. If you love time travel romances based in medieval times, a touch of the paranormal, action, and a love to tug at your heart strings, you should love this book.😀

Great story, poor narration.

I've loved all of Cynthia Luhrs' stories. All of which I've listened to on Audible. However, I do NOT care for this narrator. She's done all of the stories, has improved with each, but makes the stories adjust painful to listen to. The British men's accents are ALL nasally, exaggeratedly slow, and pompous. Some characters that should be British, have Scottish accents. North Carolina coastal characters have Texas accents at one point, then change to Oklahoma accents, for the same character! If you can't do the accents, just leave off of them entirely. And then all the heroines are made whiney by her voice inflections and accents. Just no. I've listened to 4 books over the last few days and they've all been like this. Same narrator. After this series, I won't listen to another book narrated by this woman.

Horrible

Terrible plot, dialogue, and characters. The performance was painful to listen to. A complete waste of a credit.
