About this listen

If the lights go out forever, can love survive?

Twice now, Taylor, Jackie, Lexi, and Anna have faced the darkness brought on by a catastrophic solar storm. With the help of Sam, Laura, and a group of faithful friends, they have rebuilt their lives in a world without power. But when new threats arise, each must find a way to survive against the odds as well as continue to rely on each other.

If you like a story with romance and adventure, mixed with conflict and heroism, then you will love KC Luck’s pause-resisting audiobook. Don’t miss this exciting conclusion to The Darkness Trilogy.

Note: This is a full-length novel, which can be listened to as a stand-alone audiobook, however, it is closely tied to the previous two stories Darkness Falls and Darkness Remains. These books have an end-of-the-world theme but are significantly more focused on strong female characters in loving lesbian relationships.

great ending to the trilogy

Loved this final book of the Darkness Series. KC Luck's characters were nuanced and I wondered many times about the probability of this apocalypse happening in my lifetime.

Light the beacon on the final Darkness installment

Darkness Remains is the last installment of the Darkness Series. As with any great trilogy, I am sad that it ended so soon. Sometimes last books in a series seemed hurried to wrap up loose ends in order to finish out the storyline. Thankfully, this is not the case as the author brought in another two main characters and somehow balanced their addition without making me feel like the previous ones were being neglected in the storyline. The new Army character, an officer, seemed a little stiff to me in military decorum, but she was still a great character that had her own issues to work through. I wish there had been a little more time to go in to the new two characters’ stories, but with 8 main characters, I also wanted more time with the original 6. The author still did a great job tying it all together without a trite ending like some books give you in a rush ending. I hope that the author writes another post-apocalyptic series in the future. I will be the first in line to pre-order. I highly recommend series.

I have listened to all three books and would highly recommend taking the plunge and listening to them all back to back. I am placing these on my annual re-listen list.

Narrator: Violet Dixon was great. I saw others throw shade on her. I have been a subscriber to Audible for over 10 years and have been listening to audio books since cassette days. Violet is a great narrator. Better yet, Violet narrates all three books!

very good

The saga continues. It was a great Segway from the other books in the series. I especially enjoyed how new characters were introduced and fit right in with the characters.
