About this listen

As a top draft pick from a family of hockey royalty, I'm under so much pressure that I’m losing my edge on the ice. I need something to snap my brain out of this self-destructive stress-loop. That’s where Indi Briscoe from my photography class comes in. She’s flirtatious and funny one moment, sweetly shy the next.

But she’s cagey. She has secrets. Also? She’s a virgin. Did I mention the pressure thing? Maybe I’m crazy for starting something with her. But we can’t seem to help ourselves....

Warning: This stand-alone novel contains heat, heart, familial expectations, extreme milkshakes, and a hamster with deep thoughts.

Just "So-So"

Narration was perfect. Joe is always right on point!
The ending seemed to drop off without an ending of the photography ending. All in all it was so-So. I liked the previous books in the series more, but it had different storylines. The ending took away from the overall story.

Ending felt cut off

I was enjoying the story, but it felt like it was abruptly cut off at the end. I felt like several of the storylines were not resolved. So much of the story revolves around the photography project and then all of a sudden it wasn’t mentioned any more. Needs more closure.

Surprising twists

This was a new author for me and the female narrator was new to me too. This book has a couple surprising unexpected twists. The two main characters have unique qualities and between them they face some fears and help each other through them. Of course there is always bumps along the road. However, it was a pretty interesting read. I learned facts about a few things I’ve never heard of before. The narration was really good. Joe is Joe and always so good!! I really enjoyed Victoria and her female and male voice.

Good enough - not epic, but good enough.

This is only the second one in the series that bordered or entered “meh” territory.

It’s good, but the end was lazy and the story meandered.

Really good

There was something very endearing about both main character in the story that just has you rooting for them. Although I’ve listened to several books in the series out of order it doesn’t take away from the enjoyment of each book.

it's OK

It was not as interesting as the earlier books in the series. It wasn't bad, just OK. There was a missed yet obvious opportunity to finish the photography project plot with an educational yet positive' bang' but it doesn't happen. I wouldn't have bought this book if not for the fact that I'm slowly collecting the whole series. Hopefully future books will be better. The narration was spot on!
