Publisher's summary

The wyvern has hunted for the young outcast all her life; a day will come when, after being rejected by civilization and the tribes, she must at last face him.

Abandoned as a sacrifice to the wyvern, a young girl is raised to fear the beast her adoptive clan believes meant to kill her. When the Emperor outlaws all magic, Raven is forced to flee from her home with her foster mother, for both are judged as witches. Now an outcast, she lives at the mercy of others, forever pursued by the wyvern. Soon her life will change forever.

A unique and unsettling romantic adventure about rejection and belonging.

Entertaining

I was very entertained by this story. I felt so sorry for Raven and Connor because so many of their issues could have been avoided if they would have communicated better.

Great story.

I loved this story. It kept me interested from beginning to end. I hope this will be a series. I love dragon shifter stories. The narrator did a great job.

Excellent

Raven spent her childhood in a small village, ever the outcast for her unusual hair, until the village turns on her family for their violation against the King’s decree to outlaw magic. Unbeknownst to Raven this sets her out on a journey where she learns that betrayal can come from the most unlikely of sources, but can the same be said for love?

This book will delight fans of fantasy and romance. It’s elaborate world building and complex societies add layers and the narrator was excellent.

Very Good Fantasy Romance

Very good fantasy romance. The narration was very good. The story was very good, though there could have been some trigger warning about some of the content.

Read more like a 3rd draft than a finished adventure

Narrator: decent differentiations between characters, did a good job of breathing life into the story Language: Bastard Violence: burning people alive, rape references, drugging, typical medieval fight scenes. Sexual content: bare breasts, kissing nipples, mentions of rape, rape, erection, sex scenes, naked bodies Parents: not for teens, this is an adult novel. Story: the story was entertaining but felt a bit unfinished and jumbled. Certain aspects were drawn out much longer than necessary while others that needed more detail were simply glossed over. The character development was mediocre and left a lot to be desired. —I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
