About this listen

It’s time for Gwen Proctor to bury her past—before it buries her.

For years, the Lost Angels have hunted Gwen, blaming her for the murders committed by her ex-husband, Melvin Royal. Now, they’ve found a new weapon: a viral true-crime podcast that drags Gwen and her family back into the spotlight—and into the path of a deadly new danger.

Then the FBI arrives with a chilling warning: someone is killing Gwen’s enemies, leaving behind a twisted signature that links the crimes to Melvin. The evidence points to the last person Gwen ever expected—Sam Cade, the man she’s come to trust with her heart.

With her family’s safety at stake, Gwen returns to Stillhouse Lake for a final confrontation. But as the bodies pile up and the doubts about Sam grow, Gwen must face the one question she’s been running from: She trusted the wrong man once before…

I am such a Rachel Caine fan!!! This is the only author I have ever or will ever purchase in advance. Each book in this series is amazing! There are always a few twists and unexpexted turns! I have repeated listening to this series and they never get old!

This is a wonderful series and I Highly Recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre. I will strongly suggest starting with Book One simply because each book picks up where the previous leaves off. I think Carrie Ryan has done an excellent job completing the series. The transition from Rachel Caine to Ms. Ryan was seamless, in my opinion.
Finally, Emily Sutton Smith is one of my favorite female narrators, her performance is as always outstanding.
Thank You for taking a moment to read my review.

I’m going to miss this series!

A solid end

When stillhouse lake began I was a big fan but by the end of the series I just sit back and think how absolutely stupid the characters are. Their lack of common sense with some of the situations they put them selves in and how they never seem to explain anything they are going thru with anyone close to them until it’s too late drove me nuts by the end of this series. By the end of this book I didn’t even feel bad at everything Gwen had gone thru. She sets herself up for almost all of it. She’s just so innocent and will do ANYTHING to protect her kids even Thu she’s been smothering them. I’m glad the series is over, it was good but like the fast and the furious series, you gotta know when to stop.
