About this listen

Number 99, Dash Taylor. Rookie defensive end for the Boston Tomcats. Two hundred eighty-five pounds of fast-twitch muscle. Nickname: Big D.

This tiny dancer doesn’t think I’m boyfriend material. I used to think that too. I’ve been a beast on the field and in the bedroom, but now I’m going to prove that I can be a man for her...and for our surprise baby....

See, I had a bad attitude my whole life, and that’s why my college coach sent me to take ballet lessons as punishment. The real punishment? Being taught to plié by a beautiful ballerina who refused to date me. Two years later, when we’re both professionals, I get a second chance to show her what Big D’s all about.

I thought I’d sack her by being the guy who can make his pecs dance to the beat of any song. But it isn't the other team’s offensive line who brings me to my knees, it’s a sophisticated hundred-pound ballerina. She sets me straight like no one else ever could.

I thought I was all about the smash and dash.

But getting Charlie Bardot pregnant changed everything.

This is a duet, multicast audiobook production!

Super sexy & sweet

Whew! What a beautiful story written by Kayley Loring & Connor Crais and such a bonus narrated by Connor Crais, Emma Wilder, featuring Mackenzie Cartwright, & Evan Parker. I love how Charlie meet Dash in her dance class. The concept for a football player to teach a lesson how to play football is not with the couch at the football field but letting Dash go to a ballet class, instead, is pretty epic. How to make this man be elegant, proper, and work on his grumpiness through ballet dancing? Does it work? Will it build him more ego or put him down? Furthermore, how could Charlie keep this going with Dash when he can be a fool at time dancing on his 2 big feet? Or when he finally balance dancing well, will she fall in love with him even more?

Yup, this book is exciting and you just want to know what will happen with these 2. Your heart is always pounding and rooting them on to get together. The moments they have created together are so precious, funny, witty, and most of all delightful to the core! The texting, the nicknames, and the chemistry is off the hook!!! I mean, oh, the chemistry, the narration of Connor & Emma, did paint a picture of them so well, you can even feel their love emotionally, in fact. The Hero, heroine, and all the Secondary characters brought the story alive! Mackenzie Cartwright did her narration attacks as usual- SHE'S THE BEST! Evan Parks is new to me for narration and I must say, he did portray different characters that I couldn't distinguish one another which I have to say, that's talent!!!! So, you just enjoy listening/reading how things will turn out with them especially if there's a surprise baby on the way. This pretty tiny dancer and this handsome lion-hearted football player had so many swoony times that you end up wanting to be Charlie or waiting Dash to be your man.

What are you waiting for? If you want sexy & sweet kind of romance with a beautiful dynamic of total opposites, this is it!

Good, but not my favorite. Still a simple, sexy and sweet story. (tropes listed at the end of this review)

Story: I really hesitate to give a story that I finish a 4 star, but I didn’t love this story as much as Kayley (& Connor’s) other stories. I think Charlie was kind of rude and used her hormones as a justification for intense behavior (when it was just her personality. That was somewhat alluded to later in the story). I just felt like there was a disconnect for me because I didn’t like her character. The spice was well placed, but didn’t outweigh the plot by any means. There were 3+ descriptive scenes in the story.

Narration: Connor Crais is king Midas when it comes to narration. Everything he touches (reads) turns to gold. I automatically like the MMC better after hearing his part read in connors voice! Emma wilder is an acquired taste. Her narration is good… but different. Her inflection can kind of get to me sometimes. While she is talented, she’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

Tropes:
- second chance romance
- surprise pregnancy

An audible performance that is complete fire!!!! A MUST listen!

“It was the story about how a tiny, graceful little creature turned a giant brute into a better football player. And how he couldn’t seem to forget her, no matter how hard he tried.”

This series just gets better and better with every book that Kayley and Connor release! This book had everything from an intriguing plot line, incredible character development and superb dialogue! Add in the football and ballet aspect and you have a completely addicting story you won’t be able to put down! Also…the romance is incredible so get ready for all the spice! It’s even better in the audible version which I highly recommend!

I am yet again, absolutely obsessed with the duet narration of this book! It gives the book a whole new experience to the story and completely enchases it to even better than the print version of that’s possible! Connor Crais and Emma Wilder gave such a remarkable performance that it made me feel immersed in the story for every chapter! They know exactly how to use their voices to convey every word and sound that make the conversations so real and life like! An impeccable narration performance by both of them!

It was everything I expected and more!

What a read! The story takes me on some highs and lows but the overall vibe makes my heart pound. I completely loved these characters! Usually the male leads take the spotlight for me. Don’t get me wrong I loved Dash and all his attitude and bigness but he is sharing this spotlight with Charlie. I really saw and felt the connection between them. I could easily see her making him a better man and player then in return he did that for her. Just lovely! The texting, the nicknames and the whole process is just delightful! I also just want to say I would have LoVED to be seated at the dinner table for the pec dancing scene. I can only imagine!

Secondary characters are plentiful! I enjoyed meeting and greeting the families and the other players. This has some sobering moments as well as some fun ones with these characters.

Overall it is a wonderful second book in the series which I wish I could read again for the first time. When the audio comes out I will again be enjoying the story of the beast and his tiny dancer!

Connor as DASH🥰🥰

Connor Crais as DASH made me want to relisten to this book but only for his parts. I struggled with Charli once she started her pregnancy journey. Like, she was a lot. I didn't like how she treated him, especially when Dash was so freaking patient with her. It was a good story. I don't know that this could ever happen in real life, but that is why we love these books. This book also had good spice!!! Connor kills it. I think I tolerate Emma in books bc her characters are usually pretty good and she is always reading with a great male lead. This was not a good choice for her. She made charli seem extra whiney and at one point I just skipped through. I bought the Kindle book and read through it. Again the story is great overall and I am glad I spent my credit.

Big D for the win

I have been waiting for this one to release as I loved the first book that Kayley Loring and Connor Crais wrote together and it was worth the wait. We still got all of Kayley's comedy and talent as well as Connor's comedy and talent. Together they are a perfect writing pair. The book is hot and fast pasted as well as a little heartbreaking for both Dash and Charlie. We see Dash's younger self, growing up and how that affected him as well as Charlie's need to succeed not only for herself but for her mom. I really enjoyed seeing the big football star brought to his knees from life with Charlie and for her to see there was more to life than ballet. They both grew as adults and thankfully they grew together.

No spoilers here but it is a journey with surprises and big decisions and I loved it all.

Great cast of narrators. Connor Crais, Emma Wilder, Mackenzie Cartwright, and Evan Parker bring this book to life and they were so enjoyable to listen to.

I give this book 5 funny and delicious stars with a peck dance to boot.

Dash is my new fave💙

Welp Big D is my new favorite Tomkat💙 His growth from his first appearance in Decker till now is pretty awesome! He owns the sh¡t out of being boyfriend-y & husband-y…but his best role is Daddy D😍

I can’t help but feel that Daddy D has a bunch of Daddy Crais in his character ❤️

Warning! Content is Hot!

I thought I was ready for the Big D. I was not ready! Emma and Connor are so wonderful as Dash and Charlie, you can hear and feel their sizzling attraction! The book and audio are so well done, that all that hot hot heat has a very sweet balance. Evan and MacKenzie were cherries on top! Kayley and Connor are my favorite writing duo!
