It didn’t take long for news to spread that Tagger Grange was back in Peachtree Pass. I found out even faster when I fell right into his arms—not by choice.
The barstool wobbled under me when reaching for a cheddar biscuit. They’re my weakness. Much like he used to be.
Rolled up sleeves and tailored pants have replaced the boots and jeans my brother’s best friend once wore. But it’s not just the clothes that have changed. His shoulders are broader and he’s broodier. Somehow, he's even more handsome than ever.
And seeing the little boy smiling at his side? My heart instantly melts. I can't handle Tagger as a hot single dad.
Since he has no plans to stay, I know it’s best to avoid him. But daily run-ins at Rollingwood Ranch make him hard to ignore, and even harder to walk away.
His heated glances warm my insides, his smile awakens my dormant heart, and one stormy night leads to crossing lines we vowed we wouldn’t.
But when falling in the hay turns into falling in love, I start to wonder if our happy ending is a long time coming. Or will he return to the city leaving me with a broken heart?
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, S.L. Scott, will lasso your heart and tie the bow in this Swoony, Single Dad, Forbidden to Date, Cowboy Romance that will have you falling in love along with the characters.

Pride (Christine) has had a crush on Tagger since she was a teenager. When his son reached for the same cheddar biscuit and she looks into his eyes, she decides to go for it. There’s only one problem. His life is in New York while she runs the family ranch and she cannot leave. Her brothers fled after a family tragedy and she gave up her life to help out her dad. Oh, and one of her brothers is Tagger’s best friend. There is no third act break up. This book was so good.
She finally gets the guy.

This book is filled with tropes that you will love. Starting off, we have the forbidden romance between the little sister of the best friend – that causes all kinds of issues, but the sneaking around like they are teenagers tops my list of scenes to remember. Then we have the almost-single dad, so there’s that to contend with. Then we have a bit of an age gap and a long-distance relationship. It’s also a small-town romance that is mostly set on a horse ranch, so bring on the cowboys and their well-fitted denim and black-felt hats. Of course, small towns are known to let the gossip mills flow, and Peachtree Pass was no different.
Tagger Grange and Christine “Pris” Greene have known each other since childhood, but now Tagger’s home for a visit with his son in tow, and Pris is all grown up, and she is ready to commit to her flirting with her lifelong crush. Tagger loves the flirtations that he suspects are happening, so he’s ready to see if Pris is ready to put her money where her mouth is. I truly loved the story, but I'm giving it 4 stars because I feel like it had the potential for a lot more angst. Even though Tagger and Pris had a few obstacles and hurdles to maneuver, things went far too easy for them. I was more choked up and teary-eyed during Christine's scenes with her dad when they discussed her mom. Tagger and Christine didn't bring out my emotional tears.
Long Time Coming is filled with moments that will make you swoon, make you squirm, or maybe writhe and buck, as well as laugh. Little Beckett is filled with wonder, and he can spot the secret ingredient of love. All the characters wormed their way into my heart, and I loved seeing these two families being brought together through the love of Tagger and Christine. You can take the boy out of the country, but it’s hard to take the country out of the boy. Tagger fits right in on the farm, and I hope we get to see them both again. Seems to me like Baylor, his best friend and Christine’s brother, might have his eye on his sister’s best friend, Lauralee, so that is definitely something to look forward to.
