About this listen

Shane Miller Sleep Diary:

Went to bed at: Late.
How long it took to fall asleep: Forever. I have insomnia. Duh.
Number of caffeinated beverages you had consumed: Zero. Thanks for advising me to quit!

My stress level is off the charts.
I can’t sleep right on a normal day, and lately my days are filled with the best kind of chaos.
My ex-wife and husband number two are filming in Poland for three months, so I’m turning down movie parts to focus on the most important role of my life - impossibly charming and somewhat capable young single dad.

My son won’t stop asking questions.
My daughter won’t brush her teeth unless I sing her showtunes.
Our regular nanny quit.
The only person I could trust to hire as a temp nanny is my best friend’s sister.

If Mary Poppins and Bill Murray had a baby it would be Willa.
Fresh out of grad school and beautifully weird.
She hates my movies, and my kids adore her.
I couldn’t sleep last night because she wasn’t here.
Turns out I can’t sleep unless she’s in my house now.
Turns out she’s what’s been missing from my life all along.
If my friend had any idea what I want to do to his gorgeous troublemaker of a sister, he would smother me with a pillow.

The chances of us succeeding as a couple are about as good as that little indie movie that I made being a huge hit.
But it’s a chance I’m going to take.

Single dad, sign me up!!

Oh, Shane! I fell in love with him, a single dad looking for a nanny for his twins. Him and his ex wife are actors and they coparent their kids, now that his ex is away, Shane needs help.
He is sleep deprived and needs help!
Enters Willa, his best friend sister. He hasn’t seen her in years and now that she is back and he needs help he gives a try, but the sparks that fly between the two was more that what he expected.
This two together are adorable, their banter and chemistry is hot and sweet.
Teddy and Mackenzie did an amazing job at this characters. I had so much fun listening to this audio, not only was a great sweet story, but their performance was amazing and it put a smile on my face.

Highly recommended!!

Great Romance!

This book was adorable! I loved the narrators and Shane and Willa were so cute together. Shane was a child turned adult actor and it was refreshing to see him be all about family instead of women on rotation. I loved how Willa had a crush on Shane since she was 12 and how cute they were interacting with eachother. After all these years they were still drawn to one another. It was a steamy, quick light read.

Sweet, endearing single dad/nanny romcom

I've read a few Kaylee Loring books now, and I am loving them! Sleeper is an easy read, not a lot of angst, but fantastic chemistry between the main characters.

Shane is a Hollywood hotshot, a single dad with a horrible insomnia problem and in need of a new nanny for his 5 yr old twins. Willa has just moved in with her brother, Shane's best friend, as she launches her perfume business. She needs a job and a place to stay since her brother's apartment isn't cutting it, and since she has nanny experience, it works out for both her and Shane.

There are some minor issues with his ex wife, naturally, and Shane feels guilty about sleeping with his best friend's little sister. But overall, this is an easy to read, extremely enjoyable contemporary romance. Shane is a sweetheart. Not just with Willa, but he's a great dad. I loved that Summer and Lucky were part of the story, not just props. KL does a great job of painting a picture of a single dad desperately trying to hang on and keep afloat. And Willa is just all kinds of awkward, and I found that so endearing!

Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright narrate this story perfectly. They are two narrators I’ve come to like quite a bit, and their combined combo really brought Shane and Miller to life for me.

I ceived a complimentary copy and voluntarily left a review.

3.5 stars - solid, sweet story

3.5 upgraded to 4

Low angst, low drama... all around sweet romance story. But must be ok with lots of dirty talk.

But, my favorite part? Yeah, that's Teddy Hamilton. Mackenzie Cartwright did a good job too on narration.

OMG! A great audiobok!

OMG. This is a great audiobook! The relationship that brews between the nanny and father is so delicious. Their togetherness is descriptive. Their sex is described masterfully. I have now read all of her books. This author doesn't disappoint and the narrators add to the books greatness.

4.75 ⭐️

I have to admit this is one of those books I chose based on the narrators. I’m glad I did! It was funny, sweet and steamy. Plus it had the most adorable children ever. I was laughing and swooning. I fell in love with all the characters and I would recommend if you’re looking for a light low angst listen. Both narrators were amazing and I think they did very well when voicing the kids. Overall 4.75 stars!

Kayley Loring’s universe of the Brodie family and extended friends

I am a huge fan of Kayley Loring’s universe of characters of hot, sexy male characters and female heroines who are feisty, strong and romantic. This book is one I finally got my ears to listen and it is sweet, funny and made me fall in love with a set of twins, Summer and Lucky. Teddy and Mackenzie, again, knocked this one out of the ballpark! Throughly enjoyed listening to this one and looking forward to the others on her list. If you need a book to get you out of a slump or just simply want to feel light and happy, this is one to start with.

Romantic Comedy

This is my third Kayley Loring book to listen to recently. It was a mixture of two of my favorite tropes... brother's best friend/best friend's sister and nanny. But the story was my least favorite of hers so far. I would have given 3 stars for the story, mostly because the daughter drove me crazy. A bratty five year old is not amusing and no backbone in adults regarding a bratty five year old's misbehavior is even less amusing. Those parts kinda ruined it for me.

But I loved the relationship between Shane and his ex-wife. It's not the usual circumstance for ex's. And Nico's response to his sister and best friend getting together is golden! Willa and Shane's story was sweet, dream like. I loved the fun, lighter romance without a bunch of anguish. There were heartwarming moments with a few heartbreaking ones as well. It was perfect.

Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright were excellent narrators. They are two of my favorites. Great performances!

Enjoyable and sexy, but sometimes a bit childish.

I actually enjoyed this audio quite a bit and I think it brought more to the story.

Shane is a Hollywood star and Willa is his best friend’s little sister. He’s an insomniac and she’s a perfumer. He needs a nanny for his twins and she was one when she was in school. Coincidence?

I enjoyed their banter and flirtation. I really liked the info about perfumes, since it’s a little hobby of mine. I think the biggest issues I had with this book was sometimes it was either a bit childish or predictable.

This also means I inhaled this audio. Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright did a super fine job as the characters. And with kids to narrate, that was totally fun.

Added bonus, a twist of fate near the end which made the picture perfect HEA tolerable.
