About this listen

Dashing Through the Snowbirds is the next merry installment of Donna Andrews's New York Times bestselling Meg Langslow mystery series.

Christmas in Caerphilly is wonderful! Unless you’re a Canadian whose inconsiderate boss is forcing you to spend the holiday there, far from family and friends, with only a slim chance of a white Christmas. Meg already has her hands full, trying to make the season festive for the dozen programmers who are staying with her and Michael while working on a rush project with her brother’s software company. At least it’s an interesting project, since the Canadian company is doing forensic genealogy and DNA analysis.

When the inconsiderate boss is found murdered, there are too many suspects. Even before their Christmas in exile, his own employees had plenty of motives, and the growing number of people suing the company for faulty DNA analysis and invasion of their genetic privacy include at least one notorious murderer. Can Meg crack the case in time to keep the Yuletide bright?

DONNA ANDREWS AT HER BEST!

DASHING THROUGH THE SNOWBIRDS BY DONNA ANDREWS AND NARRATED BY BERNADETTE DUNN is the thirty second in the Meg Langslow series.
It's another Christmas in Caerphilly and this year Meg and her wacky eccentric family are stuck with a group of Canadians. These people are clients of Mutant Wizards, Meg's brothers' company. Robs company is working on a DNA program for them and, as per usual, murder is afoot!
Meg is trying to get ready for Christmas, Meg's dad has a surprise present in the field, Meg's mother is playing the genial hostess, Grandpa is slipping GPS trackers into everyone's purses and pockets, and death is about ready to strike!

I found DASHING THROUGH THE SNOWBIRDS one of the better of the Meg Langslow audiobooks. It had the old feeling of the crazy, eccentric family of the early Meg Langslow novels. What a fun listen!
Bernadette Dunn, as always does an excellent job at the narration. She brings all the crazy characters to life.

Five Star Christmas Read!

I loved this book. It is the 32nd book in the series and I love it as much, or more, than all the other books in the series. Thank you Donna Andrews for each and every story! And well done to Bernadette Dunn on another stellar narration.

This cozy murder mystery is full of well beloved family and friends, lots of animals, dozens of house guests, and a really great who-dunnit.

This one will kept me guessing. I even thought I knew who the murderer was a couple of times, but a new twist would happen to change my mind. I love how recent story lines are keeping up with current story lines. This book features and software project related to DNA. The last book was about True Crime Podcasts, and we get a little taste of that in this book as well.

This story made me think…it made me hungry…it made me want to keep turning the pages/continually listen to the story. But mostly, it made me laugh…all the way to the end of the book.

Buy it, you will like it!

A reliably fun series comes through again!

At over thirty books, we know what to expect from Meg Langslow — amusing, quirky characters, a liberal sprinkling of both animal facts and literary and pop culture references, and a happy ending for almost everyone (and those who don't get one generally deserve what they do get)!

It's a delight to be able to count on two books every year, one Holiday and one set in the rest of the year. After occasionally branching out into Halloween and Independence Day, Donna Andrews has been sticking to Christmas lately. Nothing over the top this year, except Mother's decorating, and there isn't quite the strong focus on one particular event/hobby/setting that some of her books have, this is just a nice mystery set in familiar territory with a few new features to make it stand out.

My one complaint is that Montgomery and Caroline didn't get nearly enough time together — I've been hoping they'd end up tying the knot eventually! Ah, well, Grandfather doesn't show any sign of slowing down yet, and neither does Spike, The Small Evil One, who is probably even older than Grandfather in dog years, so there's still time! ;-)
