Dating the Prince

I loved this story. The girl who grew up in a commune and finds her Prince charming. Great story and characters. I was given a copy and this is my honest review. I would highly recommend reading or listening to this book. The author and narrator does a fantastic job.

Dating the Prince

I loved reading this story because it felt like a fairy-tale and real life all at one. Libby and Alex are adorable together. I especially love how Libby gets Alex to relax and be more human. This was a rally great read.

While I adored this story for me the narrator just doesn't it. The narrator has a great voice and she did a great job, but she is too prim and proper sounding to do Libby justice in my eyes.

MY TAKE
I met Alex in the short love story Taming the Prince. I felt really bad for him then and getting to see what he'd gone through in greater depth here didn't change that. Libby's a sweet, charming young woman with a heart of gold. I love how she treats the little baby she's the nanny for.

And talk about being from a different world. Even with the royalty issue aside, the way Libby was raised was even very different from a "regular" American family, having grown up in a commune. So when she manages to capture the hearts of the Durham people and turns things around for Alex's PR. Until things get even more complicated. I won't spoil it, but it's funny how that comes about.

The conflict is powerful and the resolution is oh, so sweet. I love these characters! I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator Addison Quinn was wonderful!

4 1/2 stars

There was only one thing that bugged me.

***Spoiler Alert***

Alex's old flame was the almost cliche mean girl. The world is full of losers like that so she wasn't what bothered me. It was the way Alex responded to her and his ineptness in anticipating her shenanigans. She'd already shown what a piece of work she was. I didn't understand why Alex hadn't instructed his bodyguards not to let her get close to him. She was as big a danger to him as a person with a gun, after all.

Fairy Tales Can Come True!

There is a bit of "I Love Lucy" madcap to this romp through the royal family of Durham, from the Meet Cute through the courtship. Lesson to be learned? Truth is STRONGER than fiction! I had a lot of fun racing through this delightful story.

In fact, I had so much fun the first time that I was delighted to listen to the audio, to which voice artist Addison Barnes does full justice.

A fairytale romance!

This is an unlikely but fun royal-falls-in-love-with-the-commoner tale. Alex & Libby are both likeable characters. I especially felt for Alex, having his reputation shredded by a vengeful ex. The plot does take some predictable turns, but sometimes we want comfortable. It's well done and entertaining - don't take it too seriously, just sit back & enjoy.

*Clean romance level: sweet kisses

enjoyed it

This is a sweet clean romance. I really enjoyed Liberty's attitude, she is easygoing but knows when to stand up for herself. the prince in this story is the one needing saving and Liberty does a good job at savingvhis reputation.

Libby is working as a nanny in Durham. When she visits the palace, she meets prince Alexander. One thing leads to another and they start a fake relationship to help Alex’s public image. But they fall in love along the way. There were some good emotions portrayed in the story.
The narrator did a great job.

Fun light-hearted escape!

Dating the Prince is a fun light-hearted escape in the Royal Secrets series written by Addison Quinn, aka Lindzee Armstrong. It is your typical Hallmark movie scenario, with a prince from an obscure European country who is mistaken by an American to be a regular guy. When the story begins, Prince Alex is embroiled in a scandal involving his recent breakup with a Hollywood starlet after he finds her in bed with another man; however, the actress has convinced the press that she’s the helpless victim.

The next scene is of our American heroine, Libby, almost being arrested after tossing a lucky penny into the Thrown Room. Alex saves her from being arrested and in return she agrees to a coffee date the following day. Of course, the date ends in a disaster when Libby finds out his true identity. Nevertheless the press loves the possibility that the prince has fallen for a commoner. While the public loves her, Alex’s parents do not. But Libby is a strong-willed principled young woman and she soon wins over not only the prince but his family as well.

Addison Barnes narrated the Audible version of the story and she did a great job. I enjoyed Dating the Prince, which runs 7 1/2 hours, much better than the first story in the series, Taming the Prince, which was little more than 1 1/2 hours long. In short, this Audiobook is the perfect length for a summer beach “read” or for easy listening during a day off. It’s pure brain candy!

Great read

I had so much fun with this book. There was a good mix of laughter, sorrow and clean romance that me feeling it all. I thoroughly enjoyed Libby’s strong attitude and how she would put up with others harsh treatment.
The narrator also did a fantastic job with each character and I can’t wait to read more from this author and narrator duo.
