Good storyline

This spin on mythology had me a little lost! I found myself overthinking the characters. The storyline was good and the underline message of revenge is strong. Great narration.

Enjoyable

This entry was quite enjoyable. The way the author writes the stories, she makes them straight to the point which I don’t know how I feel about them.

Awesome!

I really enjoyed listening to the Daughter of the Sun audiobook! Although it was a little on the short side for my taste, it was still really interesting. I loved the whole Egyption motif. When I was younger, if you asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I would have said an archaeologist. I wanted to dig up bones and artifacts in Egypt. I so should have done that! So when I saw this book, I knew I would love it. And it was such a good little story. The more I read from Laura Greenwood, the more I love her. She has such an amazing creative mind. I'm jealous. lol. And the narrator was also awesome. I am officially a huge Laura Greenwood fan!

*Thank you Audiobook Obsession for the amazing book as usual. I am providing a voluntary and honest review.

*P.S. Happy 4 of July!!!! <3

Vengeance freed

Sekhmet has been trapped in the body of a sphinx for years as part of her curse. She is found and freed by one of her father's servants Fetket. She finds out that her father Ra is not to blame for her curse and that there are conditions attached to her freedom. Interesting story about the goddess of vengeance.

Good book

Good short story based on Egyptian mythology. Add in a bit of romance and you have a book that is really fun to read.

Great story

Loved this spin on Egyptian mythology! Sekmet had been trapped for a thousand years believing that her father was the one that caused her being trapped. While she is the Goddess of Vengeance and wants those her has cursed her to pay, she learns she must follow certain standards in order to not have her curse return and her be trapped. The narrator did a pretty good job, but like I have seen others say she did fall a little flat when voicing other characters.

Great Story

I absolutely love this Egyptian mythology inspired contemporary story. I really like that she uses different Gods and Goddesses than typical books.

Sekhmet's story was fascinating, the story behind her was heartbreaking. She's the goddess of vengeance and filled with sarcasm, I was completely captivated from the start.

The narration by Sterling LeGrand-Carney was fantastic.

A sweet story, but lacking in action

I love Egyptian mythology and therefore a chance to read a book that incorporates it was too good to pass up. I appreciate the authors diligence and research and loved her characterization of the gods and goddesses.
There is a nod to her other book but this is completely a stand alone.

Although the lack of action is understandable (and really the only way it could have gone), it still felt like a let down at the end. if there's a continuation I may be okay with the lack of confrontation (can't say more as I don't want to spoil the plot).
