Well l never thought l'd be reading about scorpions in a nice context as l have them in my lumber stacks and know full well they are poisonous.
This was an interesting listen and the narrator's voice suited these characters.

An interesting Egyptian tale

Sera, aka Serket, is doing her best to live the best that she can in the modern world. She moves every so often to not raise suspicion since she is immortal. She has little powers left, but she does what she can to help small animals. A god in the form of an animal finds her & asks her to save the life of another god that has been poisoned. A trip back home has her realizing that someone is set out to erase her completely.

Quick listen, fun idea

Narrator does a good job fitting the characters and she has a nice accent.

Quick story about Sera, who is an Egyptian Goddess that finds herself in a bit of situation. Her healing powers have waned as people begin to remember her less and less, and someone is out to take her down. Sed, an Egyptian God, is investigating the poisoning of another God and it’s led him to Sera. The venom from Sera’s scorpions seems to be the cause, but there’s more to it than that. Liked the god scenario, but things did move a little slowly with the Egyptian mythology. Still an entertaining read, but I would’ve liked a bit more focus on the romance. I loved that Sera could change into a large scorpion; too cool! Fun premise. Overall, an enjoyable story.

Interesting Egyptian Mythology

I throughly enjoyed listening to this short but outstanding audiobook. The story is well developed and the characters engaging and likable. It is amazing how much detail is included in such a brief tale. The author did an excellent job and the story moved at a perfect pace and did not feel rushed at all.

Narration was good and brought the story to life.

I was able to listen to this story at one sitting and really enjoyed learning a bit about Egyptian Mythology. Most books I have read seem to dive into Greek mythology instead. It was a fun and welcome change to what I’m used to listening.

Healing the Heart

Protectors of Poison is centered around Sera is a vet nurse who heals the animals around her while no one is looking. As we are led into the story, turns out that Sera is the almost forgotten Goddess named Serket, the Scorpion Goddess. She is called upon by Sed to heal Osiris who has been poisoned with the venom from one of her scorpions. As she and Sed go back to Egypt to see about healing not only Osiris, but also Sera, who has to become the Goddess that she had happily left behind. But it turns out that her past is coming back to haunt her and nothing is as it seems.

I love the world and personalities that Laura Greenwood has created in this story! She has given us another beautiful and powerful world that I feel like I am a part of as soon as I start listening/reading. Sabrina Sterling is a fabulous narrator, I have never heard any audiobooks by her, but she is amazing!

I would recommend this book to anyone!

Unique and Entertaining

I loved this, it's such a unique story and I loved the scorpions. The mythology is fascinating and I enjoyed that a lesser used God was the main, I can't think of a book i've read with Serket, I loved both Sera and Sed. I was enjoying the story so much I didn't want it to end.
Sabrina Sterling's narration was great and clear.

Good book

Good book. It is kind of rare to see books based on Egyptian mythology so this book was an interesting departure from most of the ones out there.
