About this listen
It’s dark outside, but hope will not be defeated.
Michael, Akio, Yuko, and the rest are searching for the pieces necessary to put together a craft which Michael hopes will take him to Bethany Anne.
But first, there are idiots in his way, seeking the same parts and intend to take them.
By force.
The challenge is they will find out what ‘force’ truly means when they dare to go up against the Dark Messiah.
One way or another, Michael will get back to Bethany Anne.

Story
In a world full of super powers, Felix has a pretty crappy one. He has the ability to modify any item he owns. To upgrade anything. Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. With that in mind, Felix settled into a normal life. A normal job. His entire world changes when the city he lives in is taken over by a super villain. Becoming a country of one city. A city state.

Story
Henry “call me Hank” Thompson used to play California baseball. Now he tends to a bar on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. When two Russians in tracksuits beat Hank to a pulp, he gets the clue: someone wants something from him. He just doesn’t know what it is, where it is, or how to make them understand he doesn’t have it. Within twenty-four hours, Hank is running over rooftops, playing hide-and-seek with the NYPD, riding the subway with a dead man at his side, and counting a whole lot of cash on a concrete floor. All because of some Russian hoods and a flat-out freakshow of goons.

Always awesome.
i just happened to be on my third or fourth time through this book when I realized I hadn't reviewed it yet! Oh no! (home alone face) This like all previous Michael Anderle books is another home run. Loving every series so far. Just wish i hadnt caught up on the audio books so fast :'( Like all the other fans i eagerly await my chance to get my dirty little digital mitts on the next release in the Kurtherian Universe. Also now that I'm sure Ell is wondering why i haven't mentioned her yet is because I am hoping she reads this and finds out i was trying to mess with her. Ell is just as awesome as Michael and great author in this universe. Godspeed to you both and thank you for being such awesome people!

Slightly disappointed
The story it’s self is great, I really enjoyed the softer side of Michael and getting back to some of my favourite characters and my favourite planet.
The narrator unfortunately hasn’t listened to the audiobooks that came before, so his pronunciation of names is totally different, making it hard to understand who he is talking about.
His Japanese is not too good either, he lengthened hai to Hieee and it made me cringe every time.
I enjoyed his voice and the character voices he used, and that Michael’s voice is completely different was totally forgiven. I would happily listen to more of his work in the future and if I was an author I would employ him. I highly recommend that this narrator does more research on his books, especially words in a different language.

Great book
It was nice to listen to the story behind what happened to Michael after being blown up by a nuk! lol... The series started off strong but I felt it was a little rushed after the first book. Still... I enjoyed the series.
