Rivka Anoa has a gift and a galactic mandate.
She's a lawyer accused of a murder she did commit. She stands ready to accept her fate, even though her victim was a murderer. A second chance appears. Become more than a lawyer. Be one who judges and punishes the guilty.
Could she look herself in the mirror after meting out justice? She's about to find out. Rivka heads to space to be the Judge, Jury, & Executioner. Criminals have nowhere to go.

The first half is cliche city, taking Rivka from Earth Barrister (who does the arrest and prosecution, but has to let the jury decide) to intergalactic Magistrate (who’s judge, jury, and executioner, right down to the Dredd-esque catchphrase “justice is served”). The dialogue is low class, relying on machine gun F bombs. The set up to Rivka turning killer is nonsense. The training, body modification, and team building montages were uninspired. There’s random comments about vampires and werewolves that are wildly out of place and don’t contribute at all to the story (apparently, this series connects to the Kutherian series?).
The second half was marginally better, if you like diplomatic missions. Instead of a shoot ‘em up space cop story, Rivka and her team must arbitrate an agreement between two alien groups on a super hot planet. There’s no real detective work; instead, progress comes courtesy of Rivka’s telepathy, making the unmasking of saboteurs underwhelming. In the final analysis, however, this was just plain boring. There are twenty books in this series on Audible, signaling this is quantity or quality. I’m out at book 1.
Painful
