About this listen

Revenge plunges Lucy, a Quaker girl living in the 1840s, into the strange world of the Shawnee Indians, where she discovers that simple faith in God's word can build a bridge between two cultures.

Taken captive by a band of Shawnee and forced to travel from Kansas territory to Indian territory, Lucy struggles across a raging river at flood stage, faces a killer tornado, and endures threats from Black Crow, who wants to kill and scalp her to satisfy his vengeance or make her his woman.

In the end, she must choose between a routine life with Jacob or opportunities among the Shawnee with Soaring Eagle. But with Black Crow's threats, will she live long enough to make that choice?

A truly unique story

When a book truly makes you feel warm inside after listening to it then you know it's a special story. Dawn of the silver moon is just that and I can't wait to listen to more books! The book tell the story of a young Quaker called Lucy living in 19th century America. Her story is both gripping and heart warming. I won't give spoilers but her journey between these very two different cultures is anything but easy and I found how the writer navigated her story was so well told with a very unique writing style. She really captures the spirit and language of the time. The narration articulates this really well so it's perfect for audiobook fans!

Extremely Fascinating Story Set in the 1840s

I was wildly interested and intrigued by this story from the very beginning. Great way to stimulate your brain.

From the raging river at flood stage, a killer tornado, and threats from Black Crow, Lucy faced a lot of challenges throughout the story.

I was captivated throughout the entire story and am very glad I chose this audiobook. Very excited for the next one!

Great addition!!!

The book has a good plot, well written and developed characters. Unforgiveness was described as a hideous sin and how to forgive is the highest love a person can bestow. I liked how Lester forgave his father, and how Dorothy learned to put her trust in God. Rising star curious about God and wanted to know more after escaping from the ranging tornado, and Lucy explaining how God is a God of all people regardless of their skin color. Well done

interesting listen and educational, good narration

I enjoyed this audio.
I enjoyed learning about the Quaker mission to the Indians and the description of their first day services.
I also enjoyed how she brought forgiveness, love, peace through the story and captured the Almighty working power of God and the power of prayer. I also loved that a 17 year old girl became the minister and that she obeyed God's word.
It is an excellent audiobook.

What an excellent read!

This is such an engaging story with interesting and multi faceted characters. I loved learning about the world and culture of the Shawnee and how it contrasted to Lucy's Quaker existence. Lucy herself is a strong, faithful woman and her journey makes for an excellent read. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys historical fiction.
